"TIME WARP - PART V"

The Story So Far...

Cover to 'Time Warp 5'

Gina, Mita, Arnie, Ryan, and Asrial have escaped Dr. Peachbody's time-trap of death, and now they go to rescue Ichi, Genn, May, Akaru, Professor Azland, Britanny, and Brianna. Fun, neh?

And Now... Pharaoh Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

The eternally egotistical time-traveller Dr. Peachbody (he's the one with the "dog"-complex) decides during his self-imposed holiday to check up on his enemies. There he learns that they've escaped, are escaping, or are going to escape his trap. He and Benji watch as...

Ichi, Genn and May land in Egypt, 1350 BC, right on top of a kidnapping rescue attempt. Rather than being obliterated by the all-powerful Dragon Pharaoh, they offer to help him save the girl, Princess Penniamen (a dead-ringer for Penny Pinser.) The Dragon Pharaoh changes back to his normal self, and he looks like Ace, Penny's boyfriend and pilot.

Princess Penniamen has been taken hostage by Sith and Salamander in a ploy to destroy the Dragon Pharaoh and to escape the imprisonment of the Dragon Orb. Maelstrom joins the list of bad guys as the good guys go to rescue the princess. Through clever strategies, the good guys win. (Duh.) The Dragon Pharaoh then sends the trio forward into time.

Peachbody and Benji see this, and the dog vows to meet them all for a final confrontation in their era and area of convergence... Quagmire, USA.

ProseWolf Says:

The cover is intentionally fuzzy, and it works. Good show.

I didn't care much for the story this time around... I think that it showcases Ichi, Sith, Salamander, and Maelstrom. It provides a good background for the Dragon Orb story, and I admit that the Time Warp storyline is an excellent place for such a story.

The humor, as always, was top notch. I just thought that this story was one of lesser quality than the rest of the Time Warp series, but still a good story nonetheless.

The interior art was phenomenal again, although I felt that too much darkness and shading detracted from the look of it. 'Tis a fine line he draws. I admit that I enjoy his art with little to no excess shading, but stories that take place at night or in dark caverns requires it. I'm just picky. Don't listen to me. ^_^
