Keeping It Quiet: The Israeli Lobby's Crushing of Dissent

Canadians do not want to have the Israeli lobby control our government like they do in the US!

The effort to change Canada's Mid-East Foreign Policy started several years ago and was led by Gerry Schwartz, (the late) Izzy Asper, and several political lobby groups like the UIA, CJC and others.

Several approaches were deployed at the same time towards achieving their goal:

• Heavy financial contributions to the liberal party and especially to Paul Martin's political campaign.  Gerry Schwartz (CEO of Onex, Chair of the Israel Emergency Cabinet, and Financier of The Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy) led this effort.
• Media control (CanWest) that instituted a policy that enforced the same editorial policy across all CanWest owned newspapers and other media outlets in Canada
• Strong political lobbying at Parliament that included trips to Israel for MPs that were either sympathetic to Israel or showed signs that they were willing to be (its all about votes).  This culminated with the establishment of a mini-Knesset inside Canada's Parliament which was given the name "Liberal Parliamentarians for Israel"
• Placing "well selected" persons into sensitive and key government jobs

On Tuesday, November 30th 2004, the day that President Bush was due to arrive in Ottawa, a last-minute meeting was held by senior government officials to make a decision about changing Canada's foreign policy regarding UN voting on Israel occupation of Palestinian land.  There was an urgent sense of making this decision before Bush meets with Paul Martin later that day!

Foreign Affairs minister Pierre Pettigrew argued for the change, ignoring the large Muslim population in his riding. (Mr. Pettigrew probably thinks that the voters will have forgotten about this in the next elections!)

Canada's Justice Minsiter, Irwin Cotler, who happens to be a former president of the Canadian Jewish Congress (a purely political lobby group that masquerades as a Charity), along with Jim Peterson, Stephen Owen and Tim Murphy from the Prime Minsiter's office also supported the change.

Many Canadians are outraged at the influence peddling in our government and especially at those politicians whose first loyalty is quite obviously NOT to Canada.

US Military is Destroying & Plundering Babylon!

"Troops from the US-led force in Iraq have caused widespread damage and severe contamination to the remains of the ancient city of Babylon, according to a damning report released today by the British Museum"..."a 2,600-year-old brick pavement crushed by military vehicles"..."somebody had tried to gouge out the decorated bricks forming the famous dragons of the Ishtar Gate"..."Outrage is hardly the word, this is just dreadful," said Lord Redesdale, an archaeologist and head of the all-party parliamentary archaeological group. "These are world sites. Not only is what the American forces are doing damaging the archaeology of Iraq, it's actually damaging the cultural heritage of the whole world."

   Linda McQuaig's superb must read book exposes what really was behind the US invasion of Iraq.  It explores Washington's desire to gain control over the largest untapped oil reserves on earth and establish a major military presence in the oil-rich region.

Shortly after becoming Vice-President, Dick Cheney embarked on a series of top secret meetings to expand US control on world energy supplies.  The "Cheney Energy Task Force" focused on Iraq since its vast oil reserves were largely untapped and also very cheap to extract.

The book shows a map of Iraq that Cheney's Task Force prepared where they carved western Iraq into 9 "blocks" to be exploited by Haliburton, Exxon and other oil companies, as well as "Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oil Field Contracts"!

All this took place at least 6 months before 9/11.  On September 12th 2001, Cheney, Wolfowitz and the rest of the cabal, identified Iraq as the target for invasion!
