Mother 3

Mother 3 is the sequel to Earthbound that has yet to be. It was announced years ago that a sequel to Earthbound would be made for the Nintendo 64. The project was actually started, but the anticipated game was cancelled after about years because Nintendo had moved on to the Gamecube. It was reportedly half done. From what I have heard, the story revolved around a man named Flint, who looked like a cowboy, and some twins- who for some reason remind me of Palom and Porom from Final Fantasy II. Anyways, Earthbound fans had been keeping their hope alive that a future installment would come to light. After Ness being in both of the Super Smash Bros. games, that glimmer of hope began to brighten. On June 20th, 2003, Mother 1 and Mother 2 (Earthbound) were released together for the Gameboy Advance, but only in Japan. There hasn't been news yet of an American release. It's reported that in 2004, Mother 3 will be released for GBA as well, but also just in Japan. There is a lot more information about Mother 3 here as well as ign.com in general.
