Hi, I'm John Clifford. My Dad had a liver transplant on April 10th, 1996. I have been living with him since 1990 watching him slowly die of liver disease. Then this amazing thing happened, and I got my father back. Check out why this web site was created.
Past career (until I chucked it)...
I always worked in restaurant and retail management. This includes two years teaching Food Service Management and related topics for the City Colleges of Chicago. I've also taught Food Service Sanitation in Florida (as well as IL). This gave me a great edge in 'germ proofing' our house before & after Dad's surgery. Check out my "tips" page for some great ideas.
Current Occupation:
Working part time at Hewlett Packard until I graduate. Got the job thru co-op at school. I work a flex time job I share with another student manning an internal help desk. The two of us provide in house tech support, generate reports from SQL database searches, and troubleshoot any user problems. (See my resume for more details.) I work in a cool place with some incredible people. I want to move on to bigger & better things when I graduate, but for now, this is great!
Working on:
Back in school full time at DeVry Institute of Technology. Computer Information Systems major. Graduation in March of 1998. My GPA was a constant 4.0 / 4.0 until Dad started declining, then it slipped a little - but so what? Priorities are everything. I'm still on the Dean's List, and my current cum GPA is 3.57.
