Saturday September 20th, 1997.

The Hilton Hotel at 145 Richmond at Universty will be the the site for the Toronto based Church of Scientology celebration of 'Auditors Day'. A meeting by the 'Church', open to the public, has been announced by the 'Church' for 7:30 pm in Toronto 2 and 3 ballrooms.

A Notice of Demonstration has been filed with the Metropolitan Police (Traffic Division) in order to secure Police Protection for Demonstrators and to establish first rights to Demonstrate on the public sidewalks at and about the Hilton Hotel at Richmond and University on Saturday September 20th from 6:30 pm. to as late as 9:30 pm.

We are independent concerned citizens who are well aware of our Rights and Obligations in the matter of Public Demonstrations. While we are *not* required to file a Notice of Demonstration in order to stage a public protest, we do so to secure certain temporary relief from counter actions of the 'Church' and others, for a defined period of time and place. These perogatives will be enforced by the Police if necessary.

You and your staff are likely not aware that Church of Scientology policy towards critics of the 'Church' is to regard them as:

"Enemies: Suppressive Persons". May be lied to, tricked, sued or destroyed.

Suppressives have no rights under Scientology Law. Whether members of the 'Church' or not.

Suppressive persons will, in a 'Church' run World Government' be "disposed of quietly and without sorrow".

There are some who liken our activities and the regard the 'Church' has towards us as similar to those of the Jewish Faith protesting a neo-Nazi Group, in that the 'Church' regards us as second class citizens and dehumanises us in their doctrines.

You and your staff may not also be aware that the Church of Scientology in Canada was convicted for criminal breach of public trust and fined accordingly, in Canada.
The Court held the criminal activities of members or agents of the 'Church', commited for the benefit of the 'Church', to be, in fact, criminal acts *of* the 'Church'.
The management policies which led the 'Church' into these criminal activites *are still in place and in force*. However the International 'Church' has taken the PR steps to change the names of its Policy and its Enforcer Branch. (Now called the Office of Special Affairs; formerly known as the Guardians Office.)

We are perfectly aware the Hilton does *not* endorse any of the Church of Scientology practices and policys which we Protest, however we will be exercising our Rights of Freedom of Speech and Expression this day.

To provide you with a measure of our standards of conduct and what you may reasonably expect from our Demonstrators I have provided below a copy of the advisory all Demonstrators are requested to read and adhere to. Those not willing to agree to these guidelines will *not* be permitted to participate in our demonstration.

We ardently hope the 'Church' management is better able to contain the responses of its staff and members than in the past.
