J.K Rowling's series has swept the nation. Millions of people have read and fell in love with Harry, Ron and Hermione. I created this page for those of you who are unfamiliar with Harry Potter, or you just need to be reminded of a few things, as we all do, from time to time. I've broken down each book one by one and will go through new characters, themes, events, etc.

Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone
This is the first book of the series where it introduces you to many new things. This book is considered the "baby" because it is only 309 pages.Harry learns a lot in his first year of Hogwarts. I think the most important thing he learns is friendship. For all of Harry's life Harry never had friends untill he came to Hogwarts and met Ron and Hermione.Though he may not have realized it at the time, Ron and Hermione change Harry's life and w\o them he wouldn't be the same. Next, Harry comes in contact with Voldmort for the very first time. I don't think Harry completly understood the importance of this, but it was still very important.

Harry Potter and the
Chamber of Secrets
This is the second book of the series where it continues where we left off at the begining of the summer. This is also a tiny book as it is only 341 pages. Some new characters introduced in this book include Dobby(yay) and Professor Gilderoy Lockhart of course. During this year Harry learns about dueling, and the history of Hogwarts. Some new information given to us is that Harry is a parselmouth(he can talk to snakes). It is a quality associated with Slytherins because the Slytherins house is a serpent. Also, the only other person besides Salazar Slytheirn that can speak parseltongue is Slytherin's true heir which turns out to be Voldemort (aka Tom Riddle)One thing we realize, is that Voldemort is very sneaky and will stop at nothing to come back to his full strength including sending his 16 year old self and trying to release a basilsik (king of serpents) on Harry. One thing I like is how we get introduced to Fawkes(Dumbeldore's pet phoenix). This book wasn't one of my favorites so there really isn't tooo much to say.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
This is the third book of the series. I consider it one of the scariest ones(mostly because of the dementors).At 435 pages this book has a lot backround information that is interesting. Some new characters include Professor Remus Lupin(my favorite DATDA teacher, DATDA=defense against the dark arts)Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew(aka Wormtail)Professor Trewlany. We find out the Harry has a godfather(yay) but he is a "criminal" charged with the murder of 13 people(yikes) except that he is innocent(yay) but he has to stay in hiding because noone believes Harry and Hermione except for Dumbeldore.Also, Professor Lupin is a wearwolf(but he still rocks)Harry finds out alot especially about his dad. Two cool new things, The Time Turner, and the Patronus Charm.One awesome thing. Hagrid is a teacher(yay). Best thing ever. Gryffindor FINALLY wins the Quidditch Cup (yippie skippie)!!!!!!!can't wait for this movie it is gonna be amazing. in theaters summer of 2004

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
This fourth book has so much action and emotion its amazing its only 734 pages. One of my favorite reasons this book is so good is that there are some many twists and unexpected outcomes. Some new characters include Mr. Crouch, Bary Crouch, Winky, Mr. Bagman, Fluer Delacour, Viktor Krum, Cedric Diggory,Madame Maxime,Professor Karkoff, Moody(the real one). My favorite task was the 1st because it seemed so unrealistic.How can a 14 year old skinny boy go up against a nasty fire breathing dragon???The Yule Ball, ok here is where I have a lot to say. First of all, I think it is hard for boys to talk to girls and I was sooo sad when Cho said no. Also, Ron should have asked Hermione because he obviuosly cares for her.Biggest Shock: how Voldmort killed Cedric so fast, it seemed unreal(J.K Rowling stop killing off characters soooo quickly, show some remorse).Scariest Moment:Voldemort coming out of the cauldron and touching Harry's face while all the Death Eaters are around.Most Confusing part: when Harry tried to escape Voldemort's duel and all the Death Eaters. Most Dramatic Part: when Moody(barty crouch)tried to kill Harry and Dumbeldore bursts in.Saddest Part:when Harry gets all depressed and blames himslef for Cedric's death.Overall this book helped fill a lot of little holes in and really builds up the next book.(as it was at least 2 years before i got the 5th book, I was very excited when it finally came)

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
This is the fifth book of the series and in my opinion..... the best so far!!! At a whopping 896 pages it is quite an acomplishment to finish this book in good time. Yet, Yours truly read this book in 8hrs!!! I stayed up the whole night to finish it, which just shows my dediation. For this book, when I knew I was gonna write a summary I promised myself that I would not make it tooo lengthy but this book is the ultimate exeption as soo muh important stuff happens. Ok, first Harry is 15 yrs old, in his 5th year at Hogwarts. At the end of the fifth year Hogwarts students take O.W.L.s which are like the sats to us. They are taken in every subject and your grade helps you determine what you can do as a career for your fututre. Ok a little random but as you all know, Voldemort has risen to power with his loyal Death Eaters. Dumbeldore also has a rebellion group known as the Order of the Phoenix. It is top secret as the ministry of magic are refusing to beleive voldemort has come back and are discrediting Dumbeldore and Harry as well. Some important people in the order are Sirius,Lupin,Mr.&Mrs. Weasly, Bill,Charlie,Tonks,Moody,Mundungus,and get this...SNAPE!(i know i know bizarre). The hideout for the Order is in Sirius's family's old home. Some inhabitants there are Kreaher(evil loony house elf) and a portrait of Sirius's mother(who screams a lot and is very prejudice)Dumbeldore is the Seret Keeper of the Order and therefore it has ultimate security measures. Ok i will now hit the main events of the book. First, Quiddith: Ron beomes the new Gryffindor Keeper (yay, even though noone an replae wood)Harry, Fred, George get kicked off the team(oh no)Ginny becomes the new Seeker(didn't expect that)! The new Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher is Dolares Umbridge. There are about 1 billion curse words i an think of to all her but i guess the one i will have to settle with is she is the biggest BITCH of all time. She sent dementors after Harry to get him expelled, She put Harry in detention and made him write lines in his BLOOD(psyho lady)!!! She keeps making rules to discredit the teachers, Dumbeldore, and Harry. Yet Harry finds a way to fight back. When he found out that they would not be allowed to practice defense magi with some persuasion he created a club where he taught them a lot of spells he learned and mastered. He is such a good teacher that even Neville is doing well.(go neville!)Ok seond big news: Fred and George drop out of school(smooth boys very smooth :))Ok now i know i have to skip a lot so i will go to the best parts. Prof. Mcgonagall yells at Umbridge and tells her that she will help Harry be an Auror(yay that was soo cool and nice) Dumbeldore gets kicked out and makes a grand esape (very classy).Hagrid returns from his giant enounter with his brother Gwarp. Bane (centaur)becomes the new Divition teacher after Prof. Trewleny gets sacked(o well never really liked her tooo much anyways). ok now to the big stuff. Snape has been teaching Harry Occumelcy but it doesn't go well. Harry,Ron,Hermione,Ginny,Neville, and Luna travel to the Department of Mysteries b\c they think that Sirius is in trouble. They find the prophacy that links Voldemort to Harry. Harry destroys it.(yay) in the battle we lose a member of the order. Beatrix Lestrange killed Sirius (omg this suks oh no no no no) i swear i was crying!!!! Harry and everyone are safe, Neville did incredible in the battle he made me soooo proud(yeah neville u rock dude). The worst part was when Harry was all depressed blaming himself for Sirius's death and hating himself. The book ends where the ministry FINALLY has realized that Voldemort is back in power with his Death Eaters. This book was inredible and i absolutly loved it. Waiting anxiously for the sixth book.....will be giving updates as soon as information is reached to me about the date of it's release, then i an start a countdown. So for the time being, school work will stay as is. Feedbacks are VERY important so I an post them.
