| Located in the Florida Keys on Lower Matecumbe Key, about mm 77.5 bayside. Park at the Hungry Tarpon or Robbie’s Marina parking lots. Cache is a medium tupperware-type container. |
This cache is located near the Hungry Tarpon restaurant and Robbie’s Marina, just off the Overseas Highway. From the cache’s hiding spot you can see the docks at Robbie’s Marina, which is home to a great local tradition – feeding the Tarpon (a kind of fish). Take a few minutes to go over to Robbie’s, buy a bucket of bait ($2.50?), and go feed these huge sport fish. It’s the best cheap-thrill in town. (Webcam: http://floridakeyswebcams.tv/robbiestarpon/)

Sorry Penquinhunters, you must have been here at low tide. No foreign smells today. Beautiful, clear water. Took Mickey Mouse figure and left miniature ketchup bottle.

Forgot to log. Just found my notes. Stopped on my way home to Naples from Key West. My husband and I enjoyed feeding the Tarpons. Not sure if the date is correct but it is close. Thanks for the cache and the rest stop.
