The cache is located in a unique area frequently visited by locals. The quest will take you to the farthest areas to be explored in this region. Motorized vehicles are prohibited. Bringing a mountain bike would make this trip faster, or it can be walked if you are looking for a lot of exercise.

This cache was updated by Bison in February 2005. Cache is now a black ammo can, and it has a log book and pen, plus some new items.

The parking area can be found by traveling on US 1 to mile marker 17, turn south and go about 3 miles where the road turns a hard right. You may park there, around the corner. There is a barrier located here where the real adventure begins. Just walk around it and start to follow the roads and trails. Plan to spend some time enjoying the quiet nature and getting a bit of exercise. We recommend you bring along some bug spray and drinking water. There is a great bridge that local folks like to jump from and swim in the cool clear water below, so bring along a change of clothes as well.

The cache has two travel bugs (Toddler Toad & the Love Bug)and assorted items. There is no log book or pen in this cache so just log your visit on the geo site (and maybe leave a pen/book behind).

The area is visited often by locals. Please be careful to be discreet and don't disturb the area to much.

This was a wonderful walk. My husband thought I tricked him because he asked how far it was and I told him 1 1/2 miles. He didn't releaize that was one way! The local spot is very cool and we planni on bring our daughter and soninlaw back to see this area! We have been coming to the keys for 20 yrs and would not have experienced this if not for geocaching! If you have time, continue on this road for some other beautiful sights! Thanks for the great trek!
PS also tried to hide the cache a little better in the same spot though.

Quite the walk, but worth it. Make sure to bring bug spray. TFTF. Rode the bike against the wind to get there, but sailed back.

We REALLY enjoyed this adventure!!! We almost attempted this in July 2006 from the North entry of 939... we didn't have pictures or logs... and the atlas, mapsource & gps clearly show this road goes all the way thru (HAH!!!) We now see those attack July attack mosquitos as a warning..... SOOO glad we had the cache details this time, and approached from MM 17. This was a great long Mountain Bike ride to the cache site (had to jump, climb & duck several fallen trees, but nothing too bad). Beautiful Site & Views. Glad to have on good shoes as I had to pick glass out of my sneakers... then do a little CITO. Took: Sponge Bob, Left: K-9 Patch, Coozie & Jacks. TFTH!!!
