Who are the ancestors of William H. Hugg?
This was, perhaps, one of the biggest mysteries in my genealogy, but it seems to be solved. A fellow researcher (you can see her RootsWeb Database here) has very good research indicating that William H. Hugg (b. 1818) is the son of William Hugg (b. 1786). This moves the mystery back two generations to Benjamin Hugg, b. 1755 in Cecil County, MD.
Where did the Cecil County Huggs come from?
How did the Huggs come to Cecil County? To Maryland?
What about the Somerset County Huggs? Is William related to Jugurtha Hugg, the Polk/Pollok and/or Knox families?
