Walking details
I walk one mile at least twice a week. When I walk in my neighborhood at the end of the first half mile there is a gradual incline of about 35 degrees for 1/10 of a mile. There is a small leveling off area before the incline increases to 45 degrees for the final 1/10 mile. Then it's back down the hill and head for the barn.
Walking is the hardest thing I do for exercise. Not only can it be painful on my joints, but just getting myself motivated to do it is hard. Especially on days when I am having knee and ankle pain. But, weather and body permitting I get it done at least twice a week. Otherwise I go to the YMCA and swim 18 laps in the pool, which equals a distance of 1/2 mile, and 1/2 mile of swimming is equal to 1 mile of walking.
