Swimming Details
I used to swim 18 laps in the pool at the YMCA and that equals 1/2 mile in length. Swimming 1/2 mile equals walking a mile. It is so much easier on my joints and gives me a total aerobic workout for my entire body. It's a bit of a hassle to get up to the pool get undressed and have to drag all the wet clothes around with me afterward. But it is well worth it because I always feel great when I am finished. Not only physically but mentally as well because it gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Knowing that I followed through and conquered a goal is uplifting for my soul. When I am done I know that I am one step closer to my ultimate weight loss goal.

I have gradually worked my way up to 30 laps in the pool. Six more would make one mile, so it is safe to say that I am currently swimming two thirds of a mile twice a week. That makes over a mile and a half a week and that transfers over to almost four miles of walking per week.
Whew!
