Hummus
INGREDIENTS:
One 15 oz can of reduced salt garbonzo beans
Three tablespoons lemon juice
One teaspoon salt substitute
Three cloves fresh garlic (I use four or six)
Four tablespoons Tahini (or adjust to your own taste) Tahini is a butter made from sesame seeds and can be found at your local super market in the peanut butter aisle
Parsley sprigs (to taste)
pinch of cumin (to taste)

PREPARATION:
Drain liquid from garbonzo beans reserving 1/3 cup of the liquid
Add beans and reserved liquid together into a food processor.
Add all remaining ingredients and blend together until mixture is completely broken down.

Serve with chips, vegetables or pita bread.

You can add peppers, onion, olives or anything else that you like into the food processor to add your own personal touch. Experiment with it!

Serving size is two tablespoons and without any extras added to the original mixture contains approximately 3 grams of fat and 100 milligrams of sodium per serving.
