Journal and some pics from Western Australia school trip, 7th to 12th June 1999

DAY ONE: 7TH JUNE 1999, MONDAY (SINGAPORE TO PERTH)
Morning calls as early as 5.30am were made but I guess they weren't necessary at all. Everyone was too excited to oversleep! We met with our luggages and stuff in school... the sun hadn't even come out and when all 36 of us arrived we headed to the airport alongside our 4 lovable Geography teachers. We shopped around at the airport cos it was early and met up with our tour manager, Chih Wee AKA Kiwi AKA Siao Viagra! Haha
At 9.15am British Airways flight BA 11 took off and we knew that things would get even better in 5 hours! We slept, read and had lunch...Sandra and I spotted a cuteee air steward and got him to take a photo with us hehehe.
The plane landed at Perth Airport and everyone was so enxious to get out! We got our luggages and met with our coach captain, Gramp! He's our Santa Claus! A very cute and jolly old man!! We got on the tour bus in which we would spend the next 5 days on and we were taken to Metro Hotel in Perth city. We shivered upon seeing that the hotel was right next to a cemetary!!
The sun setted by 5.30pm, it was winter that's why. The staff at the hotel hired us a bus to take us to Northbridge for dinner and when the bus arrived everyone was shocked!! It was sooo cool and awesome! It was driven by a really cute teenage guy (made us gurls *swoon*), there were red lightings and it was playing reallyyyy loud and cool ROCK music!!!! Cool or what????
Reached Northbridge at 6+ and we were given 4 hours to shop and get our own dinner. Couldn't really shop actually, almost all the shops were closed but the eating places were all wide awake!! So Sandra, Esther, Nick, Stefan and I decided to walk around and get something nice to eat first. We got some pizza at a restaurant and 3 of us gurls fell in love with the owner...gosh he looked so much like Ricky Martin! We even took a photo with him!! And he sold alcohol to us.... maybe he had no idea we were 16!!!
After dinner 5 of us hung along the streets and waved to every stranger we bumped into. Aussie's are the friendliest! We explored the area all the way to Perth train station and went back in time to meet with the group.
The wacky bus brought us back to the hotel, there were 6 of us gurls sharing a room, we were freezing( no heater!) but we still fooled around and didn't sleep till the wee hours of the morning!!!!!!

The Subway Station in Perth! We got bored of Northbridge and decided to wander outta there.. that's how we got to the station while everyone else were still exploring Northbridge lol. Much nicer than the MRT we have in Singapore hey?? At least it does to me!
