FDL Disc Golf League

All links below are for the 2003 season. There are currently no plans to continue the Saturday
league. However, our friends at the
Fondy Disc Golf Club are running a league during the week. Check their site for more information.

League Rules and Procedures
|
|
- Each week of play (18 holes) is considered one round.
- The handicap table is based on a score of 50 for each round and is determined by a three week moving average.
- Each week’s handicapped score is calculated by subtracting the handicap from that week’s score.
- No player may improve their handicapped score by more than five throws in one week—i.e. no sandbagging.
- The first and second rounds’ handicapped scores will be calculated after the third round of play.
- A team’s weekly score is the sum of both players’ handicapped scores.
- The final rankings and prizes will be determined by adding together each team’s four best handicapped scores (this allows teams to miss rounds or join mid season).
- Substitutes and late-entry teams will start as each team did on week one; their handicapped scores will be calculated after three rounds of play.
- If a particular substitute plays for at least three rounds their handicap will be applied to their previous scores (provided they are within a reasonable span of time). If a particular substitute plays for less than three rounds they will not have the benefit of a handicap.
- Team matches may not be made up outside of regular league times: every team must play in the same conditions.
- Team rankings are independent of weekly contests.
- Ties will be broken by comparing the last round’s handicapped score, then the last back-nine handicapped score, then by raw scores, and lastly by a coin toss.
