June 1999 : The Psychology of Computer programming : IT IS OUT. GO GO GO..... Do not miss the 25th Anniversary re-print.

May 1999 : Selfish Gene : The mystery of my life solved. I am just a poor robot. A carrier of my genes and nothing more.. Booohuuuuuu!!!!

April 1999 : New Life : Orhan Pamuk does it again. When shall I read a Pamuk book that I will undertand without reading two other books trying to explain it? Pufffff.

March 1999 : Zen Speaks : Shouts of Nothingness : After a trip to Bangkok and some meditation in the Budhist temples, this book is elected from my collection as the book of the months. If my wife ever decides to put her books in my bookstore, the pages will overflow with Budhist stuff.

February 1999 : 2010 : Jupiter turns into sun. Just what we need in a cold winter day.

January 1999 : Immortality : Kundera describes the secret for immortality. Unfortunately, the idea of being immortal revolves around being very mortal. Life sucks.

December 1998 : The Blind Watchmaker : Darwin had always been a source of trouble for the faithfull. Dawkins turns this into a well orginised attack against the idea that "the God created the life on Earth." Also a good book to give as a birthday present to a molecular biologist. Happy birthday Serpil.

November 1998 :  Emperor's New Mind : Each day one misses the fine details of life, but the life is always there to fill the gap. Yesterday (much before you hit this page but sometime in Nov 98) I heard on the radio that Madonna will play the Empress in "Emperor's New Clothes", an old tale where Emperor walks naked and only a small boy has the courage to say "Look, Emperor has no clothes". Only then I realised the meaning of the title of this book that I owned for at least seven years. Penrose thinks he is the boy saying "Those computers have no mind". Good luck pal.

October 1998 : Lewis Carroll : The Complete Illustrated Works : Don't let the memory die / Children of the sky, heroes of the sea... / And as you life passes by / Remember how it feels to be / Children of the sky (Mike Batt - Hunting of the Snark)

September 1998 :  In Search of Big Bang : If you find you religion's explanation of the creation a little odd, prepare yourself for the oddest.

August 1998 : Shoot the Women First: Oh my God. This month my site is under attack from feminists claiming that I do not have enough female writers in the bookstore. Well, here is one female writing about females.

July 1998 : Computer Ethics : Bad boys are carrying shooters, on the streets of Deptford tonight...

June 1998 : Asterix the Legionary : USA discovers Asterix.

May 1998 : The Mind's I : Clever. Very clever. I re-read portions of this book. "Is god a Taoist?" and "The Ant Fuge" are perfect.

April 1998 : Utopia : I bought a car and the carseller had this book on his desk. "What a strange combination!!!"

March 1998 : Nemesis : TRACES of a distant planet named "Nemesis" is found by space scientists. And nemesis is in a collision course with our Earth. Arif olan anlar artık, başka ne diyebilirim.

February 1998 : Starship Titanic : A book written for Douglas Adams. He is now paying off people to write books on his behalf. Lazy.

January 1998 : Life is Elsewhere : Milan Kundera's novell is a classic example of his unusual writing style. The incredible transformation of the whole meaning of the novel in the last two chapters is the expected "unexpected".
