Bring: Bento lunch, something soft/dry to sit on in case
the ground is wet, foreign and Japanese friends, camera, beverages,
booze etc.
Other Details: April 3 is “Himeji-jo” day. Admission
to the castle will be free and there will special performances
of the taiko drums, shakuhachi bamboo flute and 100 kotos
in the grounds in front of the castle. You can purchase a
kitch souvenir cup and endless sake refills for \500 in the
sake tents in front of the castle. You can also enjoy Japanese
“tea ceremony” (Sado) in Koko-en (gardens) to
the left side of the outside moat. This is a casual and free
event so there is no need to RSVP. The castle grounds will
be chaos so it is pretty much a case of every man/woman for
themselves. This event is a blast and well worth the early
start! |

If you miss us head up to the castle ground and look for all
the gaijin. |
