Overheating 5100
Literally hundreds of users have been
posting their complaints on the Dell forum,
regarding this subject, for more than one
year! Some of the following posts are
long, and at times boring...but it shows you
the timeline and how things progressed with
regards to diagnosing the overheating
problem.
Here's one of the original post on this
subject, which started in April of 2003.
This simply started by someone inquiring as
to whether or not they should purchase the
5100, and then turned into 300 some odd
posts regarding overheating, the reasons,
and possible solutions. At this point,
no one really knew for sure the problem, but
several good ideas were shared, which did
help.

After personally encountering the problem
and reading the above post, I decided to
start my own post with a passionate appeal
to all the "techies" to try to actually
diagnose the problem and find the solution.
