Online Counseling Resources
There are several resources available on the internet for rape survivors and their loved ones.  In addition to the links provided below, see the Happy Phantom - Connecting with Other Survivors on this site.  If you would prefer to speak with someone over the phone, call your R.A.I.N.N. or your local rape crisis center.  However you do it, please consider reaching out, it can be a great step towards healing.

Brazos County Rape Crisis Center - This anonymous message system provides crisis intervention, information and referrals to sexual assault/abuse survivors regarding issues, questions or concerns. Due to the high volume of messages they receive, however, it may take one to four weeks for you to receive a response.

Concerned Counseling - This site offers counseling for a fee, but also has chat rooms and a bulletin board that can be accessed free of charge.  Topics available for counseling include eating disorders, depression and abuse.  Counseling is done in small groups of 5 people plus 1 counselor, and they meet once a week for 1 hour at a time set by the group members.  The cost to participate is $25/week, with a 1-month minimum commitment.

Net Psychologist - Paul W. Anderson, Ph. D., will answer questions via email.

Psych On Line - This site offers counseling for a fee, either $40 for one consultation or $99 for three consultations.

Online Crisis Centers

A rape survivor, as well as the survivor's loved ones, needs support in order to heal. It is crucial that the survivor has a safe place where they are believed. The survivor may need to express anger or other intense emotions, and sometimes, counseling may be a good idea. Crisis centers can help with this and many other areas of recovery.
