IDEAs Resource Centre
IDEA provide a wide range of services for adults living in Islay and Jura who are disabled, have learning difficulties or mental health issues.
We offer support in many forms. This can include: finding out information or talking to people on a person's behalf; finding out about other services and facilities and supporting people to access them.
We can also support people to find and keep work or do volunteering and work experience in the community. Three
of our Members are currently employed at a local distillery.
Member's needs and wishes can be discussed in confidence at any time either with their keyworker or indeed any of our supportive and friendly staff.
With our own minibuses available, our members can visit local shops, sales
and events in comfort. We also visit some of the local beauty spots
including our own picnic site at Dunlossit Loch where we can
enjoy a barbecue or do a spot of fishing in our accessible 'wheelie boat'.
The
minibus also allows us to go on holidays as a group. These holidays have
included Durham and Gateshead, Lowmill adventure Centre in Yorkshire,
Newtonmore and Northern Ireland.
