BRIEF HISTORY OF PUTRAJAYA
The idea of designing Putrajaya was thought in 1980's. However, the idea become a reality in 1990's. Below is the fact of Putrajaya :
2nd June 1993 - Cabinet accept the Prang Besar at Sepang to be the land for Putrajaya
22nd February 1994 - Cabinet accept the sub-plan
12th October 1994 - Cabibet change the name of Prang Besar to Putrajaya to remember the merit of the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Almarhum Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj
31st May 1999 - Bahagian Keselamatan Negara and Unit Penyelerasan Pelaksanaan (ICU) are the first Goverment Office that start their operation at Prime Minister Department Complex
18th June 1999 - About 1 000 people done their 'Jumaat' Prayers at Putra Mosque which can fit up up to 15 000 people.
1st February 2001 - Putrajaya was announced as the new Federal Territory
