by Marvin Basler You need to look at adjusting your w-4 for State and Federal Taxes. If you look on the back of a W-4, you will find a work sheet. When you fill out this worksheet, it will state the number of deductions that you might want to take. The more deductions you take, the more money you will see in your check. Remember, the worksheet will tell you how many deductions you can take, but it's up to you to decide is you want to take them. If you normally receive a tax refund, increasing your dependents will decrease the refund check next year. You can get a new W-4 for State and Federal through your Payroll Clerk, the Auditors or even download it off the internet. The internet site is http://www.edd.cahwnet.gov/def.pdf. (for California's WE-4) and http://www irs.gov/forms.html(for Federal W-4). |
