“Buying Power in a Competitive Retail Environment”

 

NLC and Central Laguna Chapter (CLC) joins IIEE –National and the Society of Philippine Electrical Contractors (SPECS) in cooperation with the Department of Energy (DOE) through its Electric Power Industry Management Bureau (EPIMB) and Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office (CWPO) in organizing a Power Forum and Workshop with the theme “Buying Power in a Competitive Retail Environment”. This successful event  attended by industry decision makers, facilities engineers, and professional practitioners in the electrical and energy sectors was held last June 21, 2006 at Technopark Hotel, Greenfield Auto Park, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

NLC hosts 7th Region IV Conference

 

Due to unavoidable circumstances, the previously assigned chapter will not be able to host this year’s edition of the annual Regional Conference for Region IV, and just barely two months away from the schedule, NLC accepted the challenge of hosting this major activity of the region.

It was indeed a great moment for NLC, four former IIEE Region IV Governors joined the NLC officers last May 20 for a night of fun and laughter at Jasmin Resort in Miramonte Village, Pansol, Calamba City

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

Website, NLC Chronicles; re-launched

 

A soft copy and a hard copy of  NLC activities”, that is how Engr. Roger Avenido, a former BEE Member and IIEE National President describes the chapter’s  website and newsletter.  Engr. Avenido was the guest of honor during the re-launching last April 28, 2006 at Sitio Bar and Restaurant, Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

 

 

 


 

 

 

NLC & CLC : The “power” of Power Forum

 

NLC and CLC joins hand for the conduct of the first ever Power Forum and Workshop in Southern Tagalog Region after NLC’s one year of existence as a chapter.  NLC and CLC Officers officially met last May 17, 2006 at the Centro de San Lorenzo Clubhouse, Sta. Rosa City to discuss the first joint project of the two chapters.

 

The meeting was facilitated by BEE Member Engr. Edward Mendoza who is an ardent supporter of the Power Advocacy Program of IIEE. He presented a preview of the “Buying Power in a Competitive Retail Environment”.

 

NLC was represented by President Dennis Saavedra, VP-Technical Jozane Jalbuena and Directors Magtanggol Sison and Danny San Gabriel while the following represented CLC: President Reynaldo Addun, VP-Internal Ricky Esguerra, Auditor Butch Daya, and Directors Manny Guevarra and Jimmy Brual.

 

1995 Laguna Chapter President Pepot Perez was also around together with former Region IV Governor Moises Fule, Southern Laguna Chapter President Lamberto Mendoza , RME Chairman Flor Varona and Schneider representatives.

Upon the invitation of Central Laguna Chapter (CLC) President Reynaldo Addun, President Dennis Saavedra, VP-External Arnel Punongbayan and VP-Technical Jozane Jalbuena attended the Safety Electrical Seminar conducted by CLC at Barangay Batong Malake, Los Baňos, Laguna last April 2, 2006.  Speakers for the seminar were Former IIEE National Officer Jesus Redelosa and CLC VP-Technical Engr. Energy Seminar at Toyota Motors Philippines

Through the efforts of Engr. Nestor Tadeo and Engr. Jozane Jalbuena, the 2nd Membership Meeting and Seminars on Energy Management and Energy Audits on Boilers and Chillers was held at Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) last March 25, 2006. The participants had a bonus presentation from BEE Member Engr. Edward Mendoza who continued the Power Advocacy Program Information drive in the chapter.

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

Round the clock news

 

Sta. Rosa City Mayor Joey Catindig welcomes NLC as a partner of the city government’s program on safety awareness. The Mayor offered the facilities of the City Hall in future activities of the chapter. NLC officers had a chance to talk with the Mayor last January 14 during the Chapter’s Annual Planning Session and Team Building Workshop at the Development Center of Centro de San Lorenzo Clubhouse, Sta. Rosa City.

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

1st NLC General Membership Meeting

 

Gardenia Bakeries in LIIP, Biňan, Laguna hosted the 1st General Membership Meeting & Technical Forum on Energy Management Initiatives of NLC last February 18, 2006. It was facilitated by NLC Director Engr. Michael Tuason of Gardenia.

 

This successful event was also the venue of the First Power Advocacy Information Campaign for the Province of Laguna. Board of Electrical Engineering (BEE) Member Engr. Edward Mendoza conducted a presentation on this very timely and important subject which every electrical engineering practitioner must be interested with.

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

NLC’s First Year Anniversary

 

“The IIEE National Board of Governors, during its 2nd Regular Board Meeting held last 19 February 2005, approved the accreditation of IIEE – NORTHERN LAGUNA CHAPTER as the 78th Chapter of IIEE”

 

 

 

The above words gave the “Star 50” and eventually the “Amazing 90” enough inspirations to go on and continue to attain the objectives of the creation of NLC on it’s first year of existence as an official 78th Chapter of IIEE.  This momentous event was remembered in a simple celebration held at Loveyas Restaurant in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna last February 18, 2006  as part of NLC’s 1st General Membership Meeting with no less than the 2006 IIEE National President Leo Cabasag as the special guest.

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

2006 NLC Officers

 

The 2006 Officers were inducted to office last December 14, 2005 by IIEE Region IV Governor Mandy Plata during a simple but memorable ceremonies at the Max’s  Restaurant in Balibago, Sta. Rosa.  In attendance to give messages were two former IIEE Governors of Region IV who are both staunch supporter of NLC, Engr. Mandy Diaz and Engr. Moises Fule.

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

2006 Planning Session

 

The Winner” or “Best of the Best” is the ultimate goal of IIEE – NLC for  year 2006,  ……and how they are going to do it? , the IIEE – NLC collage says  : through long lasting - burning desire, through action packed -  new things and  through higher learning;  and their goal will be a reality because it’s more than just good looks this time and the approach is different this trip.
