HERE ARE some of the characters mentioned in the background text for the campaign, should they be required...
Cardinal Yrien, Duke of Auria The Cardinal is a passionate, brave man who genuinely wants to help his people, and is truly concerned about the terrorist attacks. Should he be kept up to speed with events (and any puritan Inquisitor is likely to contact him at some point), he is likely to want to pitch in and help deal with the threat personally, seeing the safety of his flock as his personal responsibility. While his leadership qualities and courage could be useful to warbands, the consequences of him dying would be terrible. Protecting the Cardinal whilst at the same time making use of his will to help could make for an interesting scenario or two.
Magnate Ichrion, Duke of Corvus Now in his late 50s, Magnate Ichrion was a decorated officer in the Imperial Navy for nearly 30 years before returning home upon the death of his mother to occupy the Dukedom of Corvus. Still a military man at heart, his bull-in-a-china-shop approach to political manoeuvring is often sneered at behind closed doors by more conniving contemporaries, but he is also shown grudging respect for his moral outlook and plain speaking which make him popular with his peers and the citizens of Creda alike. We weren't expecting to use any major NPCs other than the Cardinal in this campaign, but when the mutant forces from Silvum laid seige to, and broke in to, Corvus' Duchal Palace, there was only one possible reaction for a man whom I had given Fitness 5 and Bravery 6... get stuck in and give them what for! Much against the advice of the Inquisitor who was with him at the time, rather than retreat to safe quarters while the security forces dealt with the mutants, Ichrion jumped at the chance to give his trusty Navy power sabre one last outing and joined in the counter attack.
Lorimar, Champion of Tzeentch Lorimar is a partially daemonic champion of Tzeentch, highly favoured and on his way to becoming a full-fledged Daemon Prince. In praise of his master he intends to conquer Creda to pave the way for taking over the surrounding systems, creating a major Chaos presence in the area as well as destroying an entire Eldar craftworld. Should his plan be fully realised, it will doubtless grant him so much favour with Tzeentch that he will surely be elevated to one of the most powerful Daemon Princes in the galaxy. He will try to avoid any confrontation with Imperial forces and early on in the campaign will flee rather than fight if caught; but this is more through caution and the need for stealth if his plan is to be achieved than cowardice. As a champion of Tzeentch he is an extremely powerful psyker and, needless to say, quite handy in a scrap.
Typical Transport Union driver Transport Union drivers are generally rugged individuals, fairly fit and brave, steeled by their trips to Silvum and encounters with the deteriorated creatures that inhabit it.
The Governor and Dukes Most of these won't feature in any games so we haven't got profiles for them, but should an official position be required on anything, you can work out a character's probable reaction from their personalites below:
