PLANETARY/ INTERPLANETARY ORGANISATIONS

The First Imperialist Church of Glivaria

One of the most popular sub sets of the Imperial creed to be found on this world, the First Imperialist Church of Glivaria is renowned both for its unusually tolerant creed, coming under the category of Humanist rather than the more common Protector, Solar or Warrior forms. The First Imperialist Church is also noted for its extensive missionary work, attempting to save the souls of citizens of every background as well as providing religious services for the visiting ships. Off-planet missionary work is also common. They also make provision for schooling and medical facilities in those areas where these things are not available.

Seacombe, Malquant and Dungam

Malquant is the senior partner in the Glivaria's largest semi-legal weapons trading group, along with Orius Seacombe and Quarv Dungam. His group is the one to go to if you want weapons of almost any kind, from ten cred "Saturday Night Specials" to Jakaero digital weapons. Through underlings and front organisations he provides arms to anyone and everyone, from the PDF to street hoodlums. His weapon sources are incredibly diverse, some are even hinted to be with xenos warmasters, and ensure that anyone trying to stifle trade will be hard pressed to do so.

Guild Jamarique

The rising star in the sub-sector's trade circuits, Guild Jamarique specialises in the production of medical equipment and supplies, although it is rumoured to also have substantial holdings in the narcotics trade. It is the newest element of the High Council, and is the primary component of the republican movement.

House Urkaehew Enforcers

The Enforcers of House Urkaehew form Glivaria's police, customs officials and PDF. Their ground troops are armed and equipped in much the same way as the Imperial Guard, whilst their space-going element bears resemblance to the Imperial Navy. It is the task of the Enforcers to protect the planet and ensure that the laws, and especially the taxation laws, are followed. They are recruited mostly from the planet's population, although mercenaries and specialists are often recruited to fill the ranks and add backbone to the structure.

FIRIMEZ CITY LOCATIONS

The Mended Barrel

A pub, or possibly THE pub, in the warehouse district of Firamez city. Originally the building which it occupies was the community centre in the residential and administrative complex which was built in the area. However, with the moving of much of the commercial bookkeeping services further away from the city centre, the scheme failed and the building was converted into a drinking establishment to cater for the warehouse workers who were the only ones who entered the area. These days the Mended Barrel is a hangout for snitches, bounty hunters and others who exist on the edge of the law. It is a neutral ground for meetings and is the best place to go if you're wishing to hire some people for out of the ordinary work. There is a bouncer at the door, he is an Ogryn by the name of Gralk, the owner goes by the name of Hibiscus Dunelm.

The Obsidian Palace

Home to Lady Travela Urkaehew the Fourteenth and seat of power for House Urkaehew. The Obsidian palace is a sprawling edifice, with a staff of thousands. As well as the House's retainers the building also contains the central astrotelepathic communication nexus, the central command of the House Urkaehew Enforcers and the diplomatic corps. The palace is a veritable fortress, containing one of the strongest building-sized void shields in the sector and with enough troops and armaments to fend off almost any attack, as it did during the Vackmanigan Incident for two weeks after the opposing forces attempted to seize power.

The Cathedral Primus of The First Imperialist Church of Glivaria

The most holy place on the whole planet and the centre for the First Imperialist Church, this impressive construction can trace its history back to the founding of the Glivarian depot, when the planet's first permanent place of worship was constructed on the very same site. The central naïve of the cathedral is large enough to hold up to 10,000 worshipers at any one time, and it is filled to capacity during almost every service. The cathedral also contains the administrative heart of the First Imperialist Church, in the form of the hundreds of clerks, researchers and administrators who labour to keep the church moving, and houses the personal chambers of the leader of the Church, currently Cardinal Argavisti. The building's east wall is known as the Wall of Remembrance, on this is inscribed the name of every Glivarian citizen who has passed on to the Emperor for the last eight millennia.
