Connecting With Service to the Congregation * Emergency Prayer Chain: Committed Christians who pray for the special needs of others. * Parish Nurse: A trained RN who helps meet people's needs physically, emotionally, and spiritually through telephone calls, home, hospital and nursing home visits. Through love, compassion, empathy, and prayer the nurse shares Christ's love. For more information on this program click on the CONNECTING PEOPLE THROUGH HEALTH NEEDS page. * Hospital Chaplaincy: An ordained Pastor with special training to meet the specific needs of people in hospitals and nursing homes. For more information click on CONNECTING THROUGH HEALTH NEEDS. * Shut-In Ministry: Both the pastors and trained lay people visit and minister to members unable to attend worship. * Small Group Ministry: A network of home based study groups geared to reach the unchurched as well as inspire fellowship and bonding between members. * Tape Ministry: Sunday services are recorded on audio cassettes for members who are hospitalized or shut-in. * Survivors' Committee: A group that serves luncheons to benefit families after funeral services. * The Informant : A monthly newsletter that keeps the congregation up to date on the wide range of events that take place at Immanuel. Newsworthy items of a national and statewide nature are also included. Contact the church office if you would like to receive this newsletter. * Home Visits: The Pastors and Lay Ministers visit members in time of need. * Pastoral Counseling: The Pastors meet with people on an individual basis to bring God's word to bear in difficult circumstances.
