The results show us that a majority of the members of the organization are connected to the Internet and have access to the new communication technology implemented. The frequency at which they check their e-mail for messages shows us that the people receive their messages frequently, and that they have the capacity to respond or participate in the ongoing discussions. It further reveals to us that a majority of the members are familiar with the technology, and are comfortable with using the technology.
Despite the fact that only twenty people participate actively in the discussion that takes place, the amount of interaction that they spend together is vastly preferable to the interaction that takes place during General Assemblies that usually take place only three times a year. Furthermore, the presence of the mailing list provides more opportunities for other members to communicate with other members of the organization as compared to the General Assemblies.
A recent activity of the organization, the First General Assembly, which was held last July 18, 2001 had a very healthy turnout, wherein an estimated 150 members attended the affair. This response to an activity is very healthy as compared to last school year’s activities wherein it has been said that the members of the organization knew nothing of what was going on in the organization.
