HOPE

It befriended me like the kindest stranger,
and easily gained my deepest trust.
While I, oblivious to the impending danger,
of this treacherer whom I had so misjudged,
as benefactor, when in truth had insatiable lust,
for inflicting pain in those in need,
of reassurance from terrible thoughts
upsetting the soul, and placing mind under siege.
But as it happened many a time and time again,
that I though with open eyes so plain,
am so blind and forgiving,
that I allowed us to join, and the pain
followed the same.
COMMENT:
I don't want to anyone to think this represents my point of view. Rather this is to pose a question, What is hope, and what does it mean TO hope? Does hope fall among such things as wishes and prayers? And therefore associated with divinity? Or does it fall among desires, and wants and needs. I think it stands alone, neither of these categories are suitable to accomodate the definition of it. When we hope we do not think of it as a prayer or wish. And if it is a synonym for "want" or "desire", why not simply use those words?

NATURE

Upon a slumber less night, I closed my eyes to view
the majestic beauty, and to feel the tranquility
of the peaceful, mysterious, moonlit black blue.
Sprinkled across the heavens were glittering speckles of light,
that exploded in brilliance and gave true meaning to a starry-studded night.
Orion clung to the sky and only with an imagination did I see
this valiant warrior protecting the heavens and all within his scope that's meant to be.
The moon timidly hid behind darkish-white amorphous entities,
yet set the sky in a blazing inferno of bluish flames with blatant furiosity.
The wind wildly whistled through the willows and stirred the leaves to life,
while specter-like shadows seemingly slithered, and in me, filled fantastic fright.
White sands were swept by the oceans waters,
while wave crests glistened and gleamed by moon light beams.
COMMENT:
I think the world is an incredible place, one full of life, and wonder, awe, and beauty. When I refer to the world, I almost all ways associate it with nature. Actually I believe that through a deep appreciation for nature we can gain a closer connection with god. The way I see it is that once u start appreciating nature, u start appreciating life and existance. and with this, u begin wondering about the creation and existance of life. Ultimately you try to find an answer and come to the conclusion of god. and god can only be good, because he has created a beautiful world, and though there is evil in the world, evil has a purpose. I believe there is a purpose for everything that happens, a meaning behind every event. I truely belive that there is order in the world, and thats how i know god exists. in the poem i was trying to emphasize the wonder that i see in nature, in the world

MISSED CHANCE

Glance for glance and smile for smile are happily returned,
and in our hearts, cheerfulness and desire begin to burn,
our feelings for each other, these seedlings from nothing have grown,
and in our imagination what thoughts of each other conjured.

Love at first sight is a thing impossible, many may say,
but through your eyes, I see your soul,
and from your clothes, your movement to your tone
everything of you is easily conveyed.
So though it may seem that by inexperience and blind faith
I have already given my heart to you,
but tis' rather, all expectations I've sought after, you so portray

Fate does weave these events so intricately
so that some things are just simply meant to be,
whereas in others our participation is of necessity.
So we must, especially with our feelings for each other now known,
two strangers the two of us, toward each other should approach.
And since this day lives but once and so do we,
why not seize the moment and cast our fears and shyness far,
and take steps together and to a journey wondrous we could embark.

But in the background I sense how hastily our times sandglass drains
as always in periods of happiness and never in pain.
So though with words unspoken, my eyes will show
that I leave you with this following note,
To everything, anything and everyone, I do swear by,
that ever again our paths intertwine, I am our yours and you are mine.
COMMENT:
I wanted to try poetically to describe a lot of things such as love at first sight, fate, a missed opportunity, things that could be but are not, things that could happen but don't, not taking a chance and seizing the moment, and also about a lack of time. I believe that you can tell whole lot about a person just from looking at them once. Based on clothes, body movement, gestures, facial expressions, a considerable amount of information about an individuals' personality can be obtained. Plus I think I'm a pretty good judge of character. I also wanted to incorporate the idea that life is full of wonderful surprises. I had written another paragraph about this, but have not yet put it into the poem since it still needs some revisions. I believe in fate to a certain degree, that we are just simply given some things, but how we use them depends on us.

COURAGE

If ever I see the danger in thine eyes
and your hands turn from gentle into knives,
I will not fear nor will I go,
but you I shall oppose,
so when the future comes
I will stand more bold.
And wherever your sword may strike,
whether through my heart or my mind,
day by day, I'll see the pain through,
till the day time heals those wounds.
COMMENT:
I'm not done with this poem, I still have at least like 6 lines to go. I think my poems are straigh forward, and don't involve too much symbolism or similes and metaphores to the point where u can't even understand the poem and what I'm trying to say. Basically I try to express my ideas, in a clear, concise yet poetic manner. When I finish this poem i'll talk more about it. But I just wanted to say that experiences even if they're painful make you a stronger and experienced person, more capable of dealing with hardships of the world. When I said "through my heart or my mind" I meant that you can get hurt by love in general by who ever it may be, or get hurt psychologically, by someone who affects your way of thinking and your judgement.
