Glance for glance and smile for smile are happily returned,
and in our hearts, cheerfulness and desire begin to burn,
our feelings for each other, these seedlings from nothing have grown,
and in our imagination what thoughts of each other conjured.
Love at first sight is a thing impossible, many may say,
but through your eyes, I see your soul,
and from your clothes, your movement to your tone
everything of you is easily conveyed.
So though it may seem that by inexperience and blind faith
I have already given my heart to you,
but tis' rather, all expectations I've sought after, you so portray
Fate does weave these events so intricately
so that some things are just simply meant to be,
whereas in others our participation is of necessity.
So we must, especially with our feelings for each other now known,
two strangers the two of us, toward each other should approach.
And since this day lives but once and so do we,
why not seize the moment and cast our fears and shyness far,
and take steps together and to a journey wondrous we could embark.
But in the background I sense how hastily our times sandglass drains
as always in periods of happiness and never in pain.
So though with words unspoken, my eyes will show
that I leave you with this following note,
To everything, anything and everyone, I do swear by,
that ever again our paths intertwine, I am our yours and you are mine.

COMMENT:
I wanted to try poetically to describe a lot of things such as love at first sight, fate, a missed opportunity,
things that could be but are not, things that could happen but don't, not taking a chance and seizing the
moment, and also about a lack of time. I believe that you can tell whole lot about a person just from looking at them once. Based on clothes, body movement,
gestures, facial expressions, a considerable amount of information about an individuals' personality can be obtained.
Plus I think I'm a pretty good judge of character. I also wanted to incorporate the idea that life is full of wonderful
surprises. I had written another paragraph about this, but have not yet put it into the poem since it still needs some
revisions. I believe in fate to a certain degree, that we are just simply given some things, but how we use them depends on us.
