ORIENTAL HEROES - FUTURE ISSUES 690 - 691

Lone Kwoon Tin with Tiger Wong looking on
Issue: 690
Cover: Tiger Wong (this cover was used for U.S. version issue 53)

It's interesting how often this scenerio of the mystery biker(s) is played out in the Oriental Heroes comics. This happened at least twice in the U.S. Version. Once it turned out to be White Sects' Hawkies and the other time it was the Oriental Heroes themselves. In fact on that occasion another mystery biker appeared which turned out to be Chan Ou Wan. You can find this repeated in issues before the U.S. Version and here it is happening again. Expect to see it again in the future.

The mystery bikers will be referred to as Green Biker, Yellow Biker and Blue Biker based on the coloring of their uniforms. There collective name is Killer Hand

Although shot three times in the back at short range, Lone Kwoon Tin's protective air prevents the bullets from Lone blocks a bullet penetrating his body. Blue Biker lunges towards Lone attempting to stab him with a huge knife but Lone catches the knife between his palms shattering it, then he delivers a crushing palm to the side of Blue Bikers' helmet. The mayhem increases as armed Global Cult thugs pour out of a nearby building. They are, however, no match for the speedy bikers. Green Biker releases smoke from gas tanks mounted on either side of his bike, filling the street and creating further confusion. Lone manages to dodge another bullet while Green Biker approaches him from behind. Green Biker slashes at Lone with a sword but again Lone's powerful protective air deflects any damage. Yellow Biker fires a shot directly at Lone's head but Lone blocks and takes the bullet in his forearm. Lone lightfoot's it up to Green Biker, blocks his sword arm and punches him right off his bike. The impact of the hit pops the bullet out that was lodged in Lone's forearm. The smoke filling the streets envelopes Lone, obscuring him from view. When he reamerges Lone's expression is dead serious. He raises his inner power and blows the shirt right off his body. Flexing his powerful back muscles, Lone Kwoon Tin forces out the three bullets embedded within his flesh. Using his inner power he then closes the bullet holes stopping any further loss of blood.

Since Yellow Lone takes one for the team Biker has run out of bullets he joins his two partner in hand to hand combat against Lone. In a three on one attack, one of the bikers manages to stab Lone Kwoon Tin in the chest with a knife before they are knocked away. The bikers are having a tough time with Lone Kwoon Tin until Tiger Wong arrives to swing the odds in their favor. Global Cult thugs in the top floor of a nearby building pull out a rocket launcher and begin blasting the street forcing Tiger Wong and the mystery bikers to flee.

Lone Kwoon Tin finally reaches his destination, Global Cult headquarters. Awaiting him are The Supreme, Iron Todd (for more information on Iron Todd see mini bio below) and Chan Ou Wan.

Mini Bio: Iron Todd is the second oldest son of Old Supreme as well as the second least seen. He is a chunky, bald headed fellow with a strange moustache, round John Lennon glasses and a constant smile. Iron Todd was placed in charge of Global Cults Hospitality Department. So far he has never been seen in a fight but stay tuned, it's coming soon.

Personal Observation: Lone Kwoon Tin is so incredibly powerful and resilient. His Kung Fu style, Taoist Achievement is regarded as perhaps the most powerful of all styles. Similar to Tiger Wong's Nine Suns Kung Fu, Taoist Achievement puts a tremendous strain on anyone trying to master it. It was passed down through the years, hidden from Global Cult. The eventual goal was to use Taoist Achievement to defeat whomever the current head of Global Cult was and take over. Lone did make a halfhearted attempt to do just that but now has thrown his ethics right out the window and joined Global Cult.

Lone Kwoon Tin is shocked to see Chan Ou Wan which is not surprising considering he was last seen wandering around with Ancestor. He shakes hands with Chan but remains Iron Todd suspicious. The Supreme asks Lone and Chan to have a seat. Iron Todd explains to them that Global Cult is concerned over Ancestor and wonder what the limit of his powers may be.

It's strange that Chan Ou Wan would act so shifty around Lone Kwoon Tin. Chan is the ultimate opportunist and having such a powerful ally (remember Lone just took three bullets to the back and a knife to the chest and still looks as fresh as a daisy) as Lone would certainly benefit him. Or perhaps he realizes that Lone Kwoon Tin is an untrustworthy jerk and would make for a poor cohort.

The Supreme begins to discuss Global Cults' current status and implores Lone Kwoon Tin and Chan Ou Wan to work together as a team with promises of rewards. Iron Todd talks about how Global Cult has always had six sections and with all the recent deaths some positions were open. The positions have now been filled and The Supreme then presents to Chan and Lone Global Cults' newest department heads. The first is the new head of Torture department, Red Eagle. He is a large man dressed in a orange suit coat with what appears Elegant Gentleman to be a gold headband. He sports long curly white hair and a junior high schoolish moustache. The second fighter is a bent over, old man in a yellow gee named Jin Bu Wan. He has taken over the Administration department. The new Hospitality department head is a well dressed man in a black suit named Elegent Gentleman. He has black, slicked back hair, a pencil thin moustache and a dot on his forehead which I assume means he's Buddhist.

Lone Kwoon Tin asks Elegent Gentleman for a one round fight, to test his skill level. The Supreme agrees. This will give Master Elegant the chance to prove himself. The opportunity to erase doubt from anyone's mind that he has earned his position. Everyone makes the way to the training room where Lone Kwoon Tin and Elegant Gentleman get set to face off. The Supreme notices the bullet wounds in Lone Kwoon Tin's back from his recent encounter with Killer Hand. He knows, however, that despite any possible injuries Lone will pull out all the stops if for no other reason than show up his rival Chan Ou Wan.

LONE KWOON TIN vs ELEGANT GENTLEMAN

The moment The Supreme issues the start off the fight Lone Kwoon Tin is on the attack. He immediatly tests Elegant Gentleman inner power by meeting him palm to palm. The two Lone Kwoon Tin battles Elegant Gentleman combatents are each knocked backwards but Lone relentlesly rushes back to continue his assault. He attacks with a Lightning Sword Finger Strike. It cracks the ground but misses Master Gentleman who wisely flipped backwards out of the way. Despite his quick tumbling, Elegant Gentleman still gets hit in the right knee with a long distance finger strike. Lone misses with a double palm shot and the two fighters break for a moment. Elagant Gentleman takes a moment to heal his knee and the fight resumes. This time Lone Kwoon Tin pulls out all the stops. He sweeps forward like a tidal wave getting in a kick to Elegant Gentleman injured knee, his chest and a final kick to the chin. In desperation Master Elegant clings to Lone's leg, spins around and flips Lone onto his stomach. Elegant Gentleman rolls backwards, headbutting Lone before landing on his feet. While Lone struggles to his feet Elegant Gentleman strikes with tro palms to the back. Infuriated, Lone smashes Master Elegant with two fists to the stomach knocking him up and into the ceiling. Elegant Gentleman crashes to the ground as the roof falls down on him. Showing impressive resilience, Elegant Gentleman climbs back to his feet as The Supreme calls a halt to the fight. Although the fight was stopped I'm going to have to give the victory to Lone Kwoon Tin due to the devastating power he showed at the end as well as the injury he inflicted to Elegant Gentleman's knee. It was clearly only a matter of time before Lone would have defeated him.

WINNER: Lone Kwoon Tin

LONE KWOON TIN vs JIN BU WAN

Next up is Jin Bu Wan. Lone Kwoon Tin, again, wastes no time at all and delivers a kick to Jin Bu Wan's stomach. Jin blocks a punch but is still knocked backwards a good twelve feet. He does, however, manage to stay on his feet through it all. Now Lone starts to do a strange move where he begins drawing in air. The powerful suction forces Jin Bu Wan to his knees to avoid being pulled in. Lone releases a ball of energy that blasts Jin Bu Wan so powerfully that the sleaves of The Supreme's shirt are blown off in the resulting explosion.

WINNER: Lone Kwoon Tin

Elsewhere, Tiger Wong and two of the injured bikers arrive at some kind of base.

Personal Observation: This new batch of department heads must be considered inferior to the old. Red Eagle doesn't hold a candle to Jupiter, the previous head of Torture, and Jin Bu Wan would be no match for Incredible Chap. I don't understand why Incredible Chap is being replaced and why is Iron Todd no longer in charge of Hospitality.
