Ancestor Issue: 716 / A Violent Storm Blows Forth a Wicked Ghost

Published: August 4, 1989

Summary Added:

Old Supreme launches a furious assault that knocks Barbarian to the ground. Barbarian, however, is no weakling and gets right back up. With Old Supreme's kung fu at an astounding thirty fifth flight Barbarian knows he's going to have to defend well and try to grapple. Using his superior speed, Old Supreme nails his opponent in the back of the head with The Iron Family Kick - God and Ghost Exchange. With the advantage on his side Old Supreme suggests that perhaps Barbarian should beg for mercy. Having knocked Barbarian to the ground Old Supreme again attempts a God and Ghost Exchange but this time misses. This small opening was all Barbarian needed and he nails Old Supreme in the face with his fist. Pouring on the damage, Barbarian delivers Ancient Electric Bolt - Thunder Strike and finishes it off with a double fist shot to the top of Old Supreme's head that smashes him face first into the ground. To protect himself Old Supreme heaves up a huge clump of earth and tosses it at Barbarian. Barbarian punches right through it and then punches Old Supreme in the head. Old Supreme sneaks in a punch to the gut and both fighters are sent flying back. Staggering to his feet, Old Supreme is visibly shaken. He can't understand how he can possibly be losing after all Barbarian's kung fu is only at level 32. On the sidelines, Iron Todd is beginning to get seriously concerned over his fathers health. His brother, The Supreme accuses him of being soft-hearted but clearly Todd cares deeply for his father. The two combatents launch themselves at each other again. Barbarian gets in a punch to the stomach and another to the head knocking Old Supreme away. It's as if Old Supreme has just lost the will to fight. Old Supreme attacks again but misses and continues to get pummeled. Everytime Barbarian lands a blow Iron Todd cries out for his father. Finally, he can take it no more and rushes to his fathers aid. Before he can take more than a couple of steps The Supreme grabs Todd in a headlock and cries out 'Are You Crazy!'. He orders his brother to calm down and gives him a couple of smacks across the face. He proceeds to scold Todd for trying to interfere in the battle.

Old Supreme raises his inner power which, of course, rips the shirt from his body. Raising his power higher he shatters the ground around him. He charges forward but not at Barbarian instead he runs towards his own son The Supreme. He looks like he wants to tear his son's head off but just as he reaches for The Supreme's neck a whirlwind whips up blowing the two away from each other. Ancestor has returned.

Ancestor Issue: 717 / Blood Flows like a River
Cover: Ancestor
Published: August 11, 1989

Summary Added: July 16, 2001

Barbarian and Gold Dragon are enraged at the sight of Ancestor. Despite the fact that last time they fought Ancestor they got their asses kicked they're ready to battle again. They know, however, that killing him will be a monumental task. Many of the Global Cult men back away in terror, particularly Chan Ou Wan and Incredible Chap. Remember that at one point Chan was actually a disciple of Ancestor. Now it seems he's just praying that Ancestor doesn't notice him. Ancestor walks towards Old Supreme with open arms shouting 'Long Time no See'. Strangly these are the exact words that Old Supreme said to Gold Dragon a couple of issues ago. He turns to see Barbarian, Tiger Wong and Gold Dragon attacking. These three are really starting to get on Ancestors nerves. Ancestor sends a blast of energy towards Barbarian but Barbarian is able to withstand it. While our heroes surround Ancestor, he spots Maggie in the crowd of Global Cult underlings. Enraged that everywhere he turns these three men obstruct him, Ancestor lets out a powerful yell that forces all but the toughest fighters to hold their ears in pain. Even Maggie is devastated by the brutal sound waves. Gold Dragon sees an opportunity to strike but just can't break through Ancestor's invincible protective air. Likewise, Tiger Wong is also batted away. Ancestor continues to be impressed by Tiger's remarkable talent and sees improvement since their last encounter.

From out of nowhere Ancestor announces that he is here seeking Guy. Our heroes are not about to give up Guy and allow Ancestor to influence him, turn him into another demon. When bunch of monks attack Ancetor emits a force that cracks the earth around him forcing them back. Ancestor rushes forward and knocks down Barbarian which gives Tiger Wong a chance to strike. Raising his palm, Ancestor blocks the kick and knock Tiger Wong into the sky. More monks attack to no effect. Simply by looking at one monk he's able to knock him away as if he were just kicked by a mule. Another monk has his head dissolve just from a word spoken by Ancestor. The monks all start backing away except for one brave (see foolish), young monk who steps forward to challenge Ancestor. As a reward for his bravery Ancestor reaches out and rips the poor young man's heart out. Enraged, Barbarian attacks once again but his fist is blocked. Tiger Wong and Gold Dragon join in. Gold Dragon has a claw blocked but it gives Tiger Wong the chance to connect with a series of kicks and connect he does. Ancestor is furious, screaming at Tiger, 'How dare you strike me in the head!'. He pushes Tiger Wong back and then punches him right in the face.
