Campaign Headlines:
Electoral College Split Three Ways
"The hell?", experts say

In yet another oddball shift of the Electoral College, Indigo Retina lost his slim margin in Washington D.C. today. Prevailing in polls is Nelson DiChezzerai, who campaigned there only a few days ago. At a rally near the Library of Congress, DiChezzerai talked about issues he believes are important to the American people, such as, quote "solving all of those unsolved mysteries from that show about unsolved mysteries. I think it was called....'Mysteries that Couldn't Be Solved' ".

Due to Retina's loss of the 3 electoral votes of Washington D.C., the Electoral College is now split 3 ways between Retina, DeLeon, and DiChezzerai. 182 votes each. Political experts are baffled.

"Do you know the chances of it being tied 3 ways mid campaign with the demographics of the states? It's insane", Philadelphia Enquirer election analyst Drew Porter said in an interview, "It is unprecedented, and confidentially, a little disturbing"

Electoral vote totals have not been this close mid-campaign since the controversial 2012 election wherein President M.C. Hammer's re-election caused problems within his party. Several factions nominated their own candidates, and the Electoral College was split evenly 8 ways. It was only by consolidating power over electoral votes of these factions that William Gates was elected president.

Election experts are also spooked because this does not bode well for them. It is difficult to predict an election when there are no leaders in the electoral college.

Plus, it is speculated, election experts don't get out much.

The possibility of an election deadlock with the closeness of the electoral college in the past 2 weeks has renewed speculation over the necessity of the Electoral College.

"Why the hell did the founding fathers put that there anyways? They must have been high on something," said Horatio Picadilly, a grocer at MegaMart in New Rochelle, NY, "Probably marijuana, or lots of sugar."

When asked for comment, all 3 candidates said the equivalent of "Gee golly, this sure is a weird campaign. Go Mets!" In this reporter's opinion, that's probably for the best.

Perhaps DeLeon and DiChezzerai's choices for vice-presidents will spur the electoral college to more diverse numbers. Next week, expect an in-depth study of the candidates for vice-president.
