Campaign Headlines:
Vice President Choices Spark Electoral College Shift
DiChezzerai Leads with 195 Electoral Votes

As expected, DeLeon and DiChezzerai's choices for VP sparked an Electoral College shift in the past week, causing DiChezzerai to pull ahead into the lead. A notable state that caused the shift is New York, Picky McNotuse's home state. This state fell into the DiChezzerai column early last week with a surge in polls for DiChezzerai. The Blinky Blinky Wicky Wacky Party candidate now leads in New York by an estimated 9 points. DeLeon and Retina will have to work hard to gain ground in that state.

Hurting from the loss of New York's 38 electoral votes, Indigo Retina campaigned through the Southwest on Monday, and polls reflected his efforts. He gained Arizona and New Mexico mid-week and also regained Arkansas and Missouri from Nelson DiChezzerai, 2 states that had gone into the DiChezzerai column several weeks back. It is clear to see that the news has been bittersweet for Mr. Retina, who is now in 2nd place in the electoral college with 185 electoral votes.

With the acquisition of New York, DiChezzerai has Florida, New York, and California in his column. These states are known in the political arena as the States-You-Really-Need-To-Win. These states combined comprise 123 electoral votes which makes up a full 63% of DiChezzerai's total.

Satch DeLeon could not be reached for comment, but his Chief of Staff Georgio Aftermath released this statement yesterday.

"We realize that our efforts thus far have not gained us much ground electorally, but we will now redouble our efforts. We will not give up until we regain California from that (censored) DiChezzerai."
Afterwards, Mr. Aftermath composed himself, and realized that probably isn't the kind of thing he should have said at a press conference.

In response to Mr. Aftermath's lashing out, Lance Quicksilver (Nelson DiChezzerai's Public Relations director) issued a response:

"Mr. Aftermath's comments should act as a warning to all those voters who would have Mr. Aftermath play an active role in any administration that Mr. DeLeon might construct if he is elected.
Mr. Aftermath proceeded to call another press conference and released this statement:
"I know you are but what am I?"
Mr. Quicksilver promptly responded with this statement:
"Takes one to know one"
After saying this, Mr. Quicksilver made a basketball-throwing motion with his hands and said "swish" with flare. Reporters, including this one, were baffled.

Election experts are feeling better after this new Electoral College shift, even though they as yet have no predictions as to who might win. All 3 candidates have led the College at some point in the campaign so far.

"Basically, we're reserving judgment until something emerges that really says to us 'That's the guy who's gonna win' ," election analyst for the Chicago Sun-Times Drew Porter said yesterday, "until then, it's a real gamble."
