It is fairly easy to get around the town. As the size of the town is not that big, it is recommended that travellers to explore the town on foot. However, if you wish to take public tranportations instead, there are many taxis and buses available

Airport Limousine

Once you arrived at the Tawau airport, you can get the airport limousine right at your doorstep. But before that, you need to purchase coupons near the exit of the arrival hall.

Taxis

The cabs here are painted in red and white and can be found almost anywhere. Taxis here are not metered. A short journey around town should cost you only RM2.00 the most. Whereas going outside the town should cost between RM4.00 - RM15.00 depending on the distance.

Buses

Although mini buses are cheap, but they are quite inefficient and not practical to travel around. There are no town buses. The buses here only connect between the town and the areas outside the town. Click here for map of bus terminal.
