Aragon-Reserve NM, Sometime in April.(I was not present for any of this,as I was at school, but I got the whole story)
The 2 Russians, Jared and Marie, had just had a squabble with Mom. she was not giving them everything they want, namely candy, new clothes, nintendo's, and other things that cost a lot. The 2 russians also believed they were being conspired against, they demanded money since, they said, we were recieving money from russia for adopting the two of them. The exact oposite was true as we had spent more than $35,000 on their behalf to get them here. Anyways, they put their heads together and decided they didn't want to be here anymore. They packed a couple of chioce belongings and all their money, about $70 from working with dad. They then left the house and went to the main highway, stuck their thumbs up and vanished. Mom was in the house and noticed that it was suddenly quiet. The storm was gone. Well after discovering some of their things gone Mom concluded that they had run away. Mom figured they would be back before night fall and didn't think anthing of it. Later mom went to Reserve to do some shopping, then she had a thought, what if the 2 russians were stupid enough to try to get far away. Mom went to the poliece station and explained the situation. The cops were very cooperative and helpful and within 15 minutes the 2 lost kids had been found. Walking west by the reserve fairgrounds with their thumbs up. The polieceman stopped on the side of the road and instructed the two kids to get into the back of the car. He was me instantly by a barage on russian profanity and a few english phrases such as "you egg" "you pig" "go away". The cop then ordered them to get in or else. The russians turned their heads and pretended to completely ignore him. This was it for the cop, he was not going to let a couple of russian punks get away with this. He grabed them both and handcuffed them togeter, then he stuffed them into the back seat of the car. The whole time both russians squirming and emiting bursts of foul sounding russian Russian. Once at the station the children were treated roughly in a no nonsence manner and a russian interpereter was called from a nearby university. The 2 russians had calmed down a bit by this time but were as rude as posible without disobeying any orders. The interpereter explained what would happen if they ever ran away again and gave them a stern lecture. The russians then calmed down and went home angry.They spent the next week in sulkey pouting. |
