Event hails Brigades' last soldier
Leinster Leader, 08 February 2009
A special ceremony will be held on St Valentine's Day to commemorate the death of the last surviving Irish soldier of the International Brigades.
Dubliner Bob Doyle died late last month in London - just three weeks short of his 93rd birthday.
The Brigades were military units who fought on the republican side during the Spanish Civil War and were made up of volunteers from various countries.
