Rededication Ceremony for the
Belfast Memorial to the volunteers in the Spanish Civil War
The International Brigades Commemoration Committee has worked for the past 3 years to erect a memorial in the town to commemorate the 20 local men who died fighting for the workers cause during the Spanish Civil War.
In October 2007 we were able to erect the memorial, but due to problems with the planning regulations it had to be removed nad put into storage. Now, after LONG discussions with the authorities, the memorial will be rededicated on Sat. 8th November.
