ISENNGARD started in 1997 as a solo project of Carlos
Carrera in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

This project was influenced by the Gothic and wave music
of the 80's of bands such as: sisters of mercy, bauhaus, the
mission uk, clan of xymox, rosetta stone, love like blood,
fields of the nephilim, new model army, the wake, siouxsie
& the banshees and the cure.

In the middle of 1998 ISENNGARD recorded its first demo in
which the sound of the project is a bit more experimental,
mixing ethereal and rock music elements with clean guitars
traveling over violin melodies.

At the end of that same year ISENNGARD recorded a second
demo with a more industrial music influence, distorted
guitars, powerful melodies and aggressive vocals, but Carlos
was looking for a unique sound, so he added new electronic,
industrial and Gothic elements to find the darkness in his
music and soul.

Late 1999 ISENNGARD recorded a third demo full of
loneliness and melancholy. This demo was promoted locally
and on the web. Alfredo Castañeda hears the demo,
contacts Carlos and soon joins the band.

With the help of Alfredo they started adding some new
guitar riffs to the songs Carlos already have recorded and
early 2000 they decide to record their first album
“intentions”. In this album the band has already find their
own style, reflecting the maturity of ISENNGARD.

Their songs make the souls of the listeners arrive to an
imaginary world of darkness, melancholy and mysticism.

The presentation of this album in Mexico placed the band
on top of the Mexican underground scene, increasing their
popularity in the Gothic community of Mexico.
A few months later Carlos released an alternate version of
“intentions” called “nocturne intentions” in which he shows
his aggressive side, his quality as musician and the
influence of the industrial style in his music.

After several live performances, Alfredo decides to leave
the project by the end of the year 2000. Carlos continues
with the project and recorded a new demo which he called
“nothing” and released in the beginning of 2001. “nothing”
is considered on of the best works of the band, and soon
ISENNGARD starts to perform live the new songs. This
opened a lot of doors to the band for live presentations,
radio plays and interviews all along the country.

Because of the popularity this new demo ISENNGARD was
getting, Carlos releases “nothing printed”. This album was
recorded in a live presentation at Guadalajara, Jalisco,
Mexico, and includes alternative live unreleased versions
from the demo “nothing” and the album “intentions”.

By the beginning of 2002 ISENNGARD recorded the demo
single “crap”, and by the middle of the same year Carlos re-
mastered the album “intentions” and re-recorded
completely the album “nothing”.

Soon after that Carlos creates 2 musical projects: rewritable
media (electrodark industrial) and zpr1 (progressive
darkwave synthpop); and recorded “don't worry 2 much”
(rewritable media) and “moments passing by” (zpr1) by the
end of 2002.

Starting 2003 ISENNGARD releases “forgotten intentions” and
“nothing remix the same”. These 2 albums have unreleased
versions, remixes by zpr1 and rewritable media, and a few
unreleased tracks from 1998 to 2003.

In March of 2003 Alfredo joins the band again and together
have several concerts all over the country.

By the end of 2005 ISENNGARD finishes recording “wishing
not to fall” album in which the duet comes with a more
mature sound proof of their growth at almost 10 years since
their formation. “…someday”, “plugged”, “meaningless
life” and “rain” are some of the songs full of melancholy
surrounded by electronic sounds and aggressive guitars
blending perfectly in the melodies.
