To re-create the Bronx of the 1960s, Robert De Niro had to shoot this in Brooklyn and

Bronx Tale should have won an Oscar. It's great, it's awesome. And it gives you
an important lesson about love and life.

to track down androids (or "replicants") who have mutinied in space and made

- Blue
in the Face
Starring: Harvey Keitel, Jim Jarmusch, Lou Reed, Roseanne, Madonna
Director: Wayne Wang, Paul Auster
Edition Details: NTSC format
- Just after they finished Smoke,
Wayne Wang
and Paul Auster
had the idea to create a new and wholly improvised film, using the same set
("Brooklyn Cigar Company" in Park Slope) and the same characters from the first
and a few new ones. Blue in the
Face is a lot of fun and at the same time a brilliant portrait of Brooklyn.
Many great cameos - especially Jim Jarmusch, Michael J. Fox,
and Lilly
Tomlin. Among the highlights: Jim Jarmusch as a guy who is about to quit smoking,
waxing eloquent about why he loves cigarettes; Lou Reed discussing his
various philosophies on life in hilarious deadpan; Lilly Tomlin as a homeless man; and a
love scene between Harvey Keitel and Roseanne. Wayne and Auster
developed the sketches in collaboration with the actors. Wonderful soundtrack.
