It's 1987 and Steve 'star' Borgas is back with a vengeance. Having served his apprenticeship under Errol Tobitt in 1986 for Burra, he took the helm for Gawler. Rising to the occasion, he won with his team's Joker in the first event, Uphill Battle. South Australian teams have an uncannily good winning record with their Joker in the first event of the night.
'Pool Humpty Dumpty' involved competitors sitting on a pole over the big pool while opposition competitors flung water-bombs and a punching bag at them. The team who lasted the longest on the pole won.
Cronulla wasted their Joker on this one. Gawler won, thanks to some handy Borgas piffing.
Gawler won 'Stiltball' too. Borgas again.
In 'Hotshot', two competitors on elastics slid in opposite directions along a soapy plastic sheet attempting to transmit a ball through a hoop. This event featured a couple of IAK anomalies.
Cronulla gives it a go. Rest assured that the protective padding is mainly cosmetic.
What on earth is going on here? To our knowledge this type of screen is unique (Anomaly #1).
