FAQs - About this site

Who the heck are you?
My name is Karli and I'm a 21-year-old college student from Canada. I got into "Will & Grace" in the summer of 1999 and have been a fan ever since. I even got to meet the fabulous Megan Mullally on August 11, 2001 (to read more, click here). Oh, and I'm a girl, in case you couldn't tell by my name. To learn more about me, visit the webmistress page.

Why isn't this website updated as much as it used to be?
I know this will sound like the typical excuse, but honestly, it's because my life was really hectic now with college. When I started this website, I was in high school and I had plenty of time to work on this and still get passing grade. However, in college, they can tell when you B.S. stuff, so I have to work my tail off to get all my stuff handed in. I've graduated, but now I have a part-time job. But I'm not going to abandon this site, so don't worry!

Why did the site move from Angelfire to Geocities?
Here are the main reasons I switched to Geocities:
1) I was running seriously low on memory on my Angelfire page. Geocities
gives much more memory.
2) For some reason, my pictures stopped working on Angelfire.
3) I couldn't use quotation marks (") on some Angelfire pages, I'm not sure why.
4) On Angelfire I had to post a one year maximum on fanfiction stories. Now, with more memory, I can keep them posted for as long as I want to.

Why are some of the pages on this site located under other names, such as "jkbackup" or "wgjkpics", rather than "jksoulmates"?
This has something to do with memory. Even though I have a lot of memory on Geocities, I am still running low on memory. So some pages I store on my backup site, "jkbackup", which is why some pages are located under that title rather than under "jksoulmates". I also have all my pictures located on my "wgjkpics" and all the "wgjkfiles" sites.

Do you know anyone associated with "Will & Grace"?
Unfortuately no. I am in no way associated with anyone who is associated with the show, so please don't e-mail me asking for autographs, etc.

How/Where do you get all of your info on the show and cast? (submitted by Kim)
Most of my information is derived from watching shows like "Entertainment Tonight", visiting other websites, visiting Yahoo!clubs, and from friends who e-mail me information.

How many people are on the staff of this site?
There are two staff members of this site so far: myself, the webmistress and designer of this site, and Greg, who opperates the "Greg's Gossip" page. If you think you would make a good staff member, feel free to apply for a job.

How do you get stills from episodes that haven't airred yet?
The official NBC "Will & Grace" website often has pictures from upcoming episodes. Just click on "Photos".

How do you get the big images you use on your wallpapers to look so clear?
To be honest, there was a section of the NBC Media Village site where I found tons of images that were huge sizes. So I saved them to my harddrive and made wallpapers out of them. However, I don't think they like people accessing that part of their site, because it's now closed off to the public.
Also, I scanned a lot of the images I use at a huge resolution, so they appear really big on screen and not distorted.

Why do some images come up as X's or as not existing?
This is usually because I've exceeded my daily bandwith allowance. This often stems from people direct-linking to my images or just viewing them too much. Check back in an hour and it should be working.

Why do you sometimes have an updated listed before the update is complete?
If I get something new to add to my site as I'm posting the updates, or I remember to update something I forgot to, I will include it in the update just to save me the trouble of going back and changing the update a few minutes later. So basically if something isn't updated that should be, just check back in a few minutes.

On the opposite end, why do you sometimes have an updated not listed at all?
Again, laziness on my part is a factor in this. If I've done a lot of work that day and realize I forgot to list an update, as long as it isn't something like keepers or anything else that involves other people, I will not bother adding the update. Consider it a surprise that you can find!

Why do you have to have a website to become a keeper?
Because I put a lot of work into the images I make for the keepers and I figure the least people can do is show 'em off on their websites. Plus, it's sort of nice to give something special to people who put the time and energy into making a website. And yes, I'm aware a lot of the current keepers have websites that no longer exist or haven't put up the picture. I plan to go through all the keepers links at some point when I have the spare time, and I will delete all who don't have the picture up or don't have a website anymore.
