KIDS KABADDI 2003

In an effort to promote kabaddi at the grass roots level, the Kabaddi Association of Malaysia (KAM) has launched the Kids Kabaddi programme.

The launch was officiated by Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) deputy president Datuk Dr M Jegathesan on May 17 at the SJK (T) Castlefield Puchong.

A competition was held in conjunction with the launch and 72 teams representing primary schools from all over the country took part.

Kedah won the girls competition while Perak won the boys competition.

The Kids Kabaddi is played on a court that measures only 5m x 5m and is played three a side.

There are no lobbies in the court. However, the baulk line is retained and also acts as the bonus line.

The rules of the game is similar to the sudden death rules.

The Kids Kabaddi has already been launched and implemented successfully in Perlis, Kedah and Johor.
