Age: 34 AKA: Fujita Gorou Fighting Technique: Gatotsu About Saitoh: Personally the coolest RK character, Saitoh was captain of the third division of Shinsengumi (also known as Miburo or Mibu's wolves). He lived true to his words "Aku.Soku.Zan" (Evil Slay Instantly) and has developed Shinsengumi's Hira-Tsuki (horizon attack) into his Gatotsu. In the Meiji, he became leader of secret sword-weilding police force whose job is to wipe out the corrupt people of the government. However, he dislikes the sword of the secret police force because it was very unreliable so he switched to using the Katana when he fought Kenshin in the Kamiya Dojo and onwards after that. He had a fight with Kenshin 10 years ago in the Bakumatsu but it was interrupted. When the rebellion of Shishio was beginning, Saitoh was ordered to test the skills of Kenshin. However, their rematch was not just a test of skill but became a fight for to the death. . . it was a good thing Okubo got there in time to stop the fight. After that, he allied with Kenshin to battle Shishio. This guy smokes a lot and he always teases Sano. Unlike Kenshin, he won't hesitate to kill.

Gatotsu (Fang Stab):

Name Description Gatotsu (Mizoguchi Haiitou Ryuu) This is the signature attack of Saitou. Gatotsu wasn't used by Saitou in the past, his specialty was a left handed sword thrust, but Watsuki decided to change it around for a boy's manga, but the Hiratsuke strike, the specialty of the Shinsen-gumi, was a real technique. The Gatotsu stance itself is done by holding the blade by the hilt in the left hand, and poising the right hand above the tip of the blade then lead off with the right foot. It's a refined stabbing technique, and has different forms of the technique for different situations. This is mainly a horizontal technique, and proves to be very effective. Gatotsu Ishiki (Gatotsu first stance) A straight forward attack, the neck, chest, shoulder, and head are the usual targets. Gatotsu Nishiki (Gatotsu second stance) Used from the air to the ground, cutting diagonally from above. Gatotsu Sanshiki (Gatotsu third stance) Anti-air move, used from ground to air. Gatotsu Zeroshiki (Gatotsu zero stance) Saitou's ultimate attack! The zero stance is done at a point blank. This requires no running start or visible leg power and is extremely powerful!
