Episode 81 "Beni Aoi's Trap. Ghosts of Edo Dynasty Haunts Kaishuu."

Kenshin went to Katsu's place and told him what had happened. Katsu showed him the note and told him about his past. As a member of the Tokugawa cabinet, he was ordered by the emperor to avoid sacrificing innocent people. That was why Edo Castle was surrendered, to avoid the blooshed of innocent people. He revealed to Kenshin that the hidden Tokugawa money did exist, that Katsu would guard the money as long as he lived.

The note told Katsu to come to Ryougan temple at 2 AM. Kenshin offered to come along, but Katsu refused. Still, Kenshin intended to go there but the rest of Kaoru Gumi appeared and Kenshin told them what had happened. Daigoro wanted to help, so Kenshin Gumi set out to help him as well. Meanwhile, the leader of the Beni Aoi told Itsuko why he did it. He told her that the decision of surrendering Edo castle had made him suffer ever since. He was a samurai, therefore in the Meiji era, he had no use and his life was miserable. Itsuko was taken out and she managed to ran away. Daigoro who was hiding among the bushes with Kenshin Gumi, rushed out to her and was wounded by one of the Beni Aoi.

Episode 82 "The Decision of Katsu Kaishu. The Truth behind the New Era."

Itsuko-san managed to run from her captors and they were chasing her when Daigoro, who was waiting in the bushes with Kenshin Gumi, rushed forward to help. Daigoro got stabbed instead on his left-side. Kenshin Gumi came out to fight, while Kenshin engaged himself with the Beni Aoi's leader, Shibata. Shibata told Kenshin that he was doing this because he hated Katsu for giving up the Edo castle and not allowing the samurais to fight. There's a flashback where a mysterious man visited Shibata in his hut and told him about Katsu surrendering the castle for his own benefit and that Katsu had been using the Tokugawa money he was supposed to protect. Needless to say, Kenshin Gumi beat the crap out of the Beni Aoi and Daigoro came around because he was only injured a little, thanks to the book he always carried with him.

The police came rushing in and the chief told them they had received two reports on the kidnapping and Kenshin rushed to Katsu's house, where Katsu had caught Tetsuma, who was actually the person behind Beni Aoi, in the act of searching for the map to the hidden money. Tetsuma had hatched the plan using the Beni Aoi because he wanted to find the money and use it to elevate his position in the Government. Katsu was going to fight Tetsuma when Kenshin stopped him and fought Tetsuma instead. Tetsuma lost his sword and pulled out a gun but Daigoro stepped forward in front of Kenshin and told him to stop and made him realized his mistakes. Later, Tetsuma turned himself in and Shibata was released.

Episode 83 "Yutarou Returns. The Ambitions of the Black Knights. Hide in the Shadows."

Oh hey, a new opening theme! I like this one! The episode opens with a group of people searching a room and not finding the object they wanted but they did discovered a picture of Yutarou and an old man. The scene changes to Yahiko, Kaoru and Kenshin walking home after practicing at a different Doujou. When they got home, Yahiko was sent to the Doujou to put the swords and Kaoru and Kenshin saw a foreigner playing Japanese chess with Sano. Yahiko found a boy in the Doujou which turned out to be Yutarou, who had recovered from his injury.

The foreigner turned out to be Prof. Hans, who had operated on Yutaro's arm. To celebrate Yutaro's return, Kenshin Gumi invited Yutaro and Prof. Hans to dine at the Akabeko. When they were walking home, Yutaro and Prof. Hans were waylaid by the Black Knights, who had come to Japan to search for them. After searching the Prof.'s room at the hotel and not finding the map they were looking for, they injured Prof. Hans and took the map. Kenshin, who had felt that someone was spying on them since Akabeko, stopped them from hurting Yutaro.

The Black Knights took off when they heard Kaoru and the others searching for Kenshin. Prof. Hans was brought to Dr. Genzai's and he told them that he hid his notebook to the Divine Medicine under the Kamiya Doujou floor and he made Yutarou promised to protect the Divine Medicine. Kenshin Gumi found Prof's notebook with a stone, and promised to help Yutarou. Meanwhile, the Black Knights was met by Moriya Misanagi, a Sanada ninja who told them they wouldn't be able to find the Divine Medicine with only a map.

Episode 84 "Sanada Ninja and the Divine Medicine. What Their Leader, Misanagi's, Goal."

The notebook told them about how Prof. Hans got the map and what the myth about the Divine Medicine, which was said to be able to heal anything. He also wrote about the men after him, the Black Knights, a secret society from Europe whose ultimate goal was world domination. They found a poem containing a puzzle on where the divine Medicine was and decided to head for Lake Suwa, which was mentioned in the poem.

Meanwhile, Misanagi striked a bargain with the Black Knights. She knew the poem also, which was passed down from generation to generation of Sanada Ninja so they could protect the Divine Medicine. She offered them to help them find the Divine Medicine, which the Black Knights intended to use to gain money to fund their world domination strategies. She agreed to help if she were given the country of Japan, when the Black Knights managed to rule the world.

Kenshin Gumi arrived at Lake Suwa and went to the shrine there to look for clues. There, they found out about the four dragons being the holy poles around the temple and about the legend of the Holy Crossing. They went to three other shrines around the lake but didn't discover anything else. When they were resting, they were attacked by Sanada ninjas and suddenly Misao, Kuro and Shiro appeared and helped them. Misao told them she was there to check on the Sanada ninjas, when she ran into Kenshin Gumi. She stayed there to help Kenshin Gumi but sent Kuro and Shiro home to Kyoto to tell the others what was going on. The Sanada ninjas rebeled against Misanagi because they didn't like being under the orders of foreigners and because they knew their duty was to protect the Divine Medicine. The Black Knights, with Misanagi's approval, killed those ninjas.

Episode 85 "A Puzzling Journey. The Trap of Holy Crossing Has Been Laid."

Yahiko suddenly got sick because of the water he drunk and Kenshin Gumi was helped by a hunter who later told them of another temple at Ryujin Lake. After Yahiko got better, they went to the temple and discovered that the lake's water surface had risen due to the moon's gravity, and the temple's holy poles rose up high because of the water pressure, therefore solving the puzzle of "dragons coming up the the moon." The lake's water mysteriously receeded and showed them a stone path towards the middle of the lake, where they found a door leading underground. Kenshin Gumi went inside, and the lake's water rose again, concealing the path and the entrance. Inside the cave, they stumbled upon a trap where big boulders of rocks were chasing after them.

They came to a small path stretching across a very deep darkness. Since Kaoru didn't dare to walk the path, Kenshin carried her and the path suddenly broke apart, making Kenshin did a leap to save them both. They came to a dead end where they found a place to put the stone they had and the wall opened. They went into the other room and the walls started moving to reveal another way. Suddenly Misanagi and the Black Knights appeared, telling them that she was the one pretending to be the hunter and thanked them for opening the way for her. The floor suddenly fell open, and Kenshin Gumi fell into the hole.

Episode 86 "Dancing Underground. Red Fly Day. Cutthroat! Sanada Sannin Shuu."

Frankly, the title baffles me. Oh well. So, Kenshin Gumi fell underground and found themselves in a sulfur cave. They were about to get choked to death by the sulfur, when Sano bashed the wall with his fist and water sprung. It turned out there was an underground river nest to the wall and the decided to let themselves drifted by the current in hope to get out of the place. They got outside and found Kaita, who was injured. Yutarou perfromed a surgery on him and the next morning he showed them a short cut to the Divine Medicine.

Misanagi and the Black Knights continued their journey. They found ancient ruins which resembled Western architecture along with a symbol almost similar to the Black Knights' on every junction. Once again inside the cave, Yahiko found the opportunity to show off his fighting skills by taking down a couple of Sanada ninjas. Kenshin Gumi were attacked by the Sanada Sannin Shuu, Misanagi's private bodyguards. Kenshin fought Ren, the Orochi. And Sano fought Zen, the head hunter.

Episode 87 "Schneider's Bet. Collapse of the Black Knights."

Kenshin was having a difficult time fighting Ren because Baku, the Dark Stalker was making the bats distracting his senses. Thanks to Kaita, Kenshin figured out what was happening and attacked Baku instead. Then he took Ren down.

Meanwhile, Sano had been injured quite a bit from Zan's claw/hook weapon. He finally finished him off though. Misanagi Gumi had arrived at a flower garden, the flowers being the Divine Medicine. Misanagi reminded Melders of their deal but Melders betrayed her and Renz tried to kill her. She was injured, and then saved by Schneider. Schneider opposed the others for not keeping their promise and wanted to help Misanagi. Melders then decided to fight Schneider by himself. It was at this time, when Kenshin Gumi arrived. And Melders fought Kenshin instead.

Episode 88 "Two Other Directions. Yahiko and Yutarou's Eternal Promise."

Melders was a formidable opponent on horseback. He hurt Kenshin on a number of times and when Kenshin Kuzu-Ryuu-Sen-ed him, it didn't work because he was wearing an armor under underneath. While fighting, Melders' platinum lance created sparks on the floor and lit the petroleum underground. Fire started and Kenshin finally defeated Melders by Ama Kakeru Ryuu no Hirameki. Renz was defeated by Kaita. Kenshin passed out from his wounds and Yutarou, trying to save the flowers, ran into the fire. Sano ran after him and got him out. Misanagi, out of her sense of failure and regret, refused to leave and wished to die in the fire, but Schneider convinced her otherwise. Kaita got Misanagi out, and Schneider, carrying the unconcious Renz, saw Melders in the fire. Apparently Kenshin's Ama Kakeru Ryuu no Hirameki must had damaged his brain. He went mad and ran into the fire instead.

The Sanada ninja refused to punish Misanagi for what she did and asked her to continue being their leader. Prof. Hans was healed by the extract of the Divine Medicine. Kenshin Gumi heard that the two Black Knights had turned themselves in and that investigations on the Black Knights were beginning in Germany. Prof. Hans and Yutarou wished to return to Germany. Yutarou wanted to quit kenjutsu to concentrate on his medical studies. Yahiko and Yutarou promised each other to become the best in their own fields.

Episode 89 "To My Angel Misao... Special Delivery from Kyoto."

This episode is one of those funny one-episodes which I like very much. They're so much fun! At Kamiya Doujou, Yahiko was practicing with Misao and kept losing from her. The others asked Misao when she would be going back to Kyoto and Misao resovled to return right then. But they had a visitor and it turned out to be Ochira and Omasu, and they were with Aoshi-sama as well! Okina had told them to come to Tokyo to pick Misao up. Misao, thinking Aoshi had come not because he cared about her but because Okina told him to, refused to go back. Megumi arrived right atthis moment. The women tried to persuade Misao to go back, but they didn't succeed until Megumi told Misao that Aoshi had never done what he was told to do until now. Misao then agreed to go back. But Kaoru suggested to go sightseeing first. The women left, with Sano and Yahiko tailing them in hope to get some food if they stopped to eat somewhere. They went to the temple and went to a restaurant which served sweets and was filled with women, which made Sano and Yahiko couldn't go in to eat too. The women met Tae and Tsubame there, which joined them. There is a funny conversation between the women here particularly with Misao heh heh heh....

After that they shopped, and some guy stole Tsubame's wallet. Sano and Yahiko, seeing this, went after the guy to beat him up but the Oniwa Banshuus got to him first and Sano and Yahiko found the guy in a sorry state heh heh heh...A policeman saw them and chased them because he thought they had beaten the guy up. Naturally they were pissed because they couldn't vent their frustration of not getting food and being chased, and when they saw the pickpocket guy again with his friends, they wanted to beat him up again. But the pickpocket guy turned out to bring his friends to the women to fight them. The women beat thhose thugs up again and when Sano and Yahhiko arrived there was nothing else to do. The women had done a great job trashing those thugs. The same policeman saw them and started chasing them again.

Meanwhile, at the Doujou, Kenshin and Aoshi fulfilled their promise to drink tea together. There's another funny scene where Kenshin tried to meditate along with Aoshi heh heh heh... Aoshi then gave Kenshin some massage by stepping on him, then he received a surprise seeing Kenshin do the laundry. They then played with Ayame and Suzume. The ladies got back and Misao gave Aoshi a paper ball as a gift, because he used to make paper balls for her when she was a child.

Episode 90 "Chinese Fusui Geomancer's Surprise Attack. The Mystery of the Satanic Pentagram."

The episode opens with a scene from 1602 where the Wind clan of Fusui masters fought to make a pentagram and fought the Water clan. The Water clan was defeated, went to china but promised to return one day.

Tokyo. 1877. A well had gone dry and a Fusui master appeared to tell them that a house had been bringing bad luck and need to be demolished. Tsukioka Tsunan went to that neighbourhood sometime later and heard about the house being demolished and a good luck stone was erected in its place. A businessman named Saeki had compensated the tenants of the house and bought it from them to erect the stone.

At the Kamiya Doujou, the well rose and the water turned dirty. After a few days, Tsunan came and told them about the story he had heard. A different Fusui master appeared and said there was an evil aura that caused the dirty water. He then left without doing anything. At the police station, the Police Commissioner, Kawaji, was busy handling the government officials corruption case. The Chief told him of the recent incidents in the city but Kawaji refused to listen. He was summoned by Yamagata, Head of the Defense Department and was warned of the Fusui. But he refused to investigate on them, because he wanted to use all the manpower to handle the corruption case, in which Saeki was one the prime suspect.

At the Akabeko, the first Fusui master appeared, saying there was an evil aura there too, in the kitchen. A fire burst from the stove, burning the Akabeko slightly. The Akabeko closed down for a few days to restore and Saeki came to made an offer to buy the Akabeko. He was driven away by Sano. He later came again but his offer was refused by Tae. Saeki left, and signaled several Fusui men to attack. Kenshin and Sano couldn't fight those Fusui men, because they used their Fusui power. They were helped by the Fusui master who had come to the Doujou, who claimed that he was there to save the city.
