Pre-b-day celebration

Yesterday, I brought over mini cheesecake (actual cheesecake, not sponge cake ^^;) and mini oreo chocolate cake to P-chan's for a pre-celebration. We had some burrito dinners (yummy guacomole ^.^) and cake. My parents picked me up afterwards. They were in Flushing to see their accountant...my accountant. (It's taxes season again.... >.<;)

Work and taxes

I just picked up my W-2 from the fiscal office, and I'm finishing cleaning my cubicle. We have some sort of cleaning competition in the office, I dunno the prize, but it's nice to have a clean work environment. ^.^ This cleaning is good, kinda a destressor from the stress piling up lately.

No mp3s 'cause I haven't been listening to anything new lately. All old stuff. I'll upload again on regular basis probably in a couple of days. There has been a lot of heavy cases lately that needs to be done now. >.< Oh wellz, back to work!

More archery, less bruises

I went to the archery range today. There was some improvement and I really enjoyed it. My arm didn't turn all black and blue due to the cover I placed over my arm. (However, I think the cover kinda affected my release so I'm going to wrap my arms in medical tape...I think.... ^^;)h

Hotel for Anime Next ^.^

I made reservations for the Courtyard by Marriott Meadowlands for my Anime Next Convention (June 16-18.) ^.^ This is a good idea (according to me and o-kaa-san) since I'm planning to stay late and going home will be a hassle. The hotel is close to the con center and I can dump my stuff there before I check in and after I check out. (I called the hotel and asked. ^.^) This is good since I have a 3pm check in and a 12pm check out. Yay! I have a hotel room! *grins* ^-^

Wonderful wonderflex

Wonderflex is a plasticcy material utilized by heat that can be made into props. It's about $45 (shipping included) for a sheet and is very user friendly. Usually people use wood or fiberglass to make cosplay props. However, you don't need alot of tools to use wonderflex: scissors can cut it and hot water/microwave/heat gun (<-less that $20) activates the bendiness.

In short, I'm going to concentrate on re-making my spear for my Chun Hyang cosplay with wonderflex. It's kinda pricy, but for the material to make a durable, light weight prop, it's worth it. ^.^

'Sasasan' is a medley of songs from 'Katamari Demacy.' I played the game at P-chan's, and it was fun. First I didn't know how to roll, than I got stuck to P-chan. Of course I got smaller and she won. ^^; I got hooked on the music so I told P-chan that I'll upload a song from it. This is the first track on the soundtrack. ^.^ I wanna play again!

I got my YYH manga! *dances* All 19 books are mine.... I need more room on my shelf...for my two newest collections. ^.^ My father got me vol. 12 of FMA. It came with vol. 0, which was a special edition. My godsis told me about it, I can't wait to read it! ^.^

O-tou-san informed me (last night) that I got my YYH manga. *dances* He suppose left Taiwan (or is leaving) and should be here tomorrow. ^.^ I'm kinda mixed feelings about seeing him, but...I am excited about getting my stuff. ^^; (I'm such a horrible daughter.... *smacks self* >.<;)

Not my cup of drama

I laugh at drama. Internet drama amuses me and wank cheers me up. On or offline, I don't play devil's advocate since I don't think my opinions truly matter in the issues of other people. I have very strong views of 'right' and 'wrong', but it doesn't mean I'm correct. Understand this, (and I'm bolding this) I'm NOT taking sides in this ridiculous fight. Deal with whatever however you see fit and I'll be here to laugh and cry whatever is appropriate. ^.^

Narnia set!

I have been 'collecting' the 1970 Collier ed. of Narnia since I received the first one when...I was 8 years old...I think. ^-^ Today, I officially have all 7 books. *dances about the room* ^.^ My friend from church, (aka. larkspur ^.^) bought the books for me for my Christmas present. ^.^ I just got them today so...so happy....

Fullmetal Alchemist Movie (Limited Edition) is LOVE

I told myself that I don't need to buy the movie. As long as I can watch it (fansub, theaters or wherever,) I will be happy. However, I saw the Japanese LIMITIED edition on yesasia.com and I totally fell in love with it. Yup, you heard me, I said love. ^^; Yeah, its an extreme reaction over an anime movie, but I totally want it...all '$88.25 /w free shipping' of it. ^.^ I think I spoke about it before, but when I saw the pictures, the box, booklet.... *drool* O.O I have a couple more days until Jan. 25 when the movie comes out. I'm definitely deciding whether or not I will buy it before that date, since I want to preorder it. ^.^

Yesasia also sells the Chiisaki Mono dvd that I want. According to o-tou-san, he said that he hasn't found it yet. *pout* (Me spoiled? Nah.... ^^;) If he can't find it, I'll most likely order it with the movie.... I need more money...good thing Chinese New Year is here.... ^^;

Every year, I depend on my Chinese New Year money to fill in the holes I placed into my savings. This year, there was an extra deep hole. (I guess I work hard and spend more. ^.^) After I see how much money I have left, I'll decide whether or not I'll buy it. (Being the only daughter of an oldest son has it's benefits. Even at 23 years old, I still get good money on new years. ^^;) *ducks from all the flying chopsticks and forks* ^^;

Old school anime ^.^

Wow, 'Project A-ko' brings back memories. Back than, anime was only on channel 11 at 6am in the morning (like 'Sailor Moon' ^.^) and Pokemon hasn't come out yet.... As I started to get into anime, the sci-fi channel came out with some of the classics like Tenchi Muyo and Fatal Fury. Project A-ko movies were hilarious. Still are, wish I can see them again. (My copies are in storage. ^-^) I don't think the sci-fi chan. are doing that anymore. Instead, tech-tv are coming out with short OAVs and stuff. I saw 'Alien 9' first on tech-tv, than I had to get it. Too cool.... Ah, the new evolution of anime.... ^-^

Party until 3am.... ^^;

Not me, I left the party at 12:30am.... ^^; We went to an Italian restaurant/bar, 'Samble' (sp?) in the East Village. We had a couple drinks and I ordered a carpaccio (sp?) which was sliced raw tuna and salmon with yummy sauce. ^.^ One of my co-workers split a chocolate pasta with me which was really delicious. Since the restaurant had a live band, it was kinda loud so some of us skipped out (/w with the b-day girl) to a nearby lounge for more drinks and talking. The atmosphere of the lounge/bar was nice with comfortable sofas and low candles. Oh yeah, they asked me to drink, but I told them I was taking meds. Instead, I had alot of sprite with lemons. ^.^

It was nice hanging out with them, a mixture of co-workers and their friends. (I met some of them before when I went to my co-worker's apartment for drinks and dinner.) They were all so interesting, but one of them had such a dynamic personality, it was wonderful conversing with her. She had such a brash attitude that I truly admire. (Kinda reminds me of P-chan. ^.^) At 12:30am, they headed out to another party and I hopped on a taxi and came home. (Me sleepy, even with no alcohol. ^^;)

It was fun.... Can't wait to go out with them again. ^.^

Sick status

Throat still hurts, but overall I feel great. ^.^ This is good 'cause I'm going out with my co-workers tonight to celebrate someone's b-day. (This sounds familiar. ^^;)

Plans....

There are alot of things I'm working on, besides my actual job. ^^; I'm working out the details for my Japan trip since I have to make the hotel reservations, destinations and anything else. This will be the first Japan trip that I'm in control. Scary thought. ^^; Also, I'm going through the preperations for my cosplay and conventions. I have to redo my spear (yes, I still haven't done it yet ^^;) maybe redo my Chun Hyang skirt (nice as it is, it's totally not right for the outfit >.<) as well as work out my new Asuca Hayashi cosplay. I'll get to Hayashi-san cosplay once I get the dvd/vcd from my father who is coming next tuesday from Asia. ^.^

YYH manga and everything else ^-^

My father said that he may-most likely-be able to order my YYH manga. *dances* I'm totally happy. At first I was like its ok to buy it if it's there and it's ok if it's not available anymore. However...later on, I was 'I must have it! Kurama!!!' *fangirl squeal* ^.^ Other stuff my father is bringing back is the FMA manga (vol. 12 onwards,) manga book covers for all my manga ^.^ and the Asuca Hayashi 'Chiisaki Mono' dvd. ^.^ Once I have the dvd, I'll be able to get a good look at her dress and start sewing! *dances happily in seat* ^.^

No work, some play.... ^^;

Today I took a sick day due to the fact that...well...I'm sick. Lessee, last night: after debating whether or not I should go home or go bug Alby, I decided to venture off into the unknown and just start walking and hopefully I'll end up at Alby's in one piece or collapse into delirium trying. The journey was a success as I finally made it to Alby's door with cake in hand. ^^V My reward for such a feat included dinner and lodging since I didn't think I can make it to the train station without hitch-hiking. ^^;

Mortal Combat Competition: Fatality

I spent the majority of today sleeping, eating and competing against Alby in the puzzle game. We decided on '4 in a row' wins wins. ^.^ I dunno why I agreed to 4 when I could have easily beat him with 3.... ^^; Anywayz, after a difficult match, Alby finally took the victory. *about to bash him with Xbox, but stops cause needs ride* ^^; lol Maybe it was best that he won since if I won, we wouldn't be able to stop playing until he wins.... ^-^

Me so tired after the match that I slept all the way to the train station and all the way on the train. *sigh* It was a good relaxing day. Actually, I feel alot better. ^.^

I got worse!?! Now I have a runny nose, I'm coughing and my asthma is starting up due to all that flem.... >.< Doshite? Why? But yeah, I'm at work. I'm going to see Alby-kun tonight (as far as I can tell,) but I won't be sleeping over anyone's house. Don't want you guys to get sick. ^^; I'm not sneezing, but I'm blowing my nose. So...no touchie! ^.^;

I want to get through this week...and I can't stay home. I have fair hearing tomorrow, and my clients are on my back for everything else. As P-chan pointed out, I'm not enjoying my work as I used to. I guess over a year's worth of working with DV victims finally got to me. My co-workers said it'll happen sooner or later. For me, I thought it'll be never, but I'm not too smart, right? ^^; Just got to survive through this day.... *grabs a tissue*

I finally went and took pictures in the snow. ^.^ Since it was cold outside (duh, it's snow) and since I'm sick, I could only stand still enough to wear one outfit: miko. Oh yeah, my friend from church is selling his FMA manga 1-11 (chinese) to me. ^.^ Isn't that awesome? My father will be buying vol. 12 on. Other stuff I asked him to get is the 'Chiisaki Mono' dvd or vcd. (Remember? The music video where my next cosplay is going to be from. ^.^) Also, the thing I want most is the YYH manga. Hopefully, they're still printing it.

I uploaded the original version of Le Couple's song, 'Wishes.' 'Hidamari no Uta' doesn't mean wishes...I don't know it means...yet. ^^; Either case, both were song by Le Couple, and they are just too awesome. Actually, this is one of the first J-pop groups I ever got into. *thinks back* I think it might be the first J-pop group I was into. Way back in-I dunno-1997? I was listening to Japanese music back than due to the anime, but I don't think I was into any specific group or singer. Okay, enough history. I hope you like the song! ^.^

Drama sucks

wank vs. drama

Damn...I guess the only explanation is that other people's drama is our wank? ^^; I'm only commenting on the latest events on some of the online communities that I frequent. No links since I don't want any brains exploding on my part. Cosplay is fun. Drama is fun.

Cosplay + drama = wank = all fun! ^.^

I'm glad we're a small group...any drama that occurs are reasonably within the range of our interweb space, if it's on the interweb at all. Which is basically mine and Jenn-chan's...since the rest of you guys don't have/update any sites. ^^; Speaking of which, Jenn-chan, do you still update your xanga? I don't think I ever got the link to it....

Some 'new' Japanime series that I'm into now is 'Saikano' (whose mp3 I uploaded) and 'Wallflower' (aka. 'Perfect Girl Evolution.') 'Saikano' is finished both in anime (13 ep.) and manga (7 vol.) 'Wallflower' is up to book 13? in Japan and 6? here. I'm totally into 'Wallflower': It's funny and cute and the art is kinda gothic which I'm getting into right now.

Defiance and Independence

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but yeah, I have become independent. It's true that I never did the 'moving out of my house' thing, but I am currently working at a reputable job with a salary that supports a good portion of my living expenses. Why bring this up now? This is to reiterate to some who tend to associate my juvenile antics with my ability to handle my finances. Please don't do that. I'm not joking when I say I want to buy something expensive. Nor am I being foolish for doing so. However, this isn't the point I want to bring up....

The most common entity is being Asian and having someone pick up the check. Usually, a fair distribution of who pays when is great among close friends. However, it has happened far to often when just one pays for someone else. No, I'm not talking about me paying for others (which doesn't happen as often as it should.) I'm talking about others paying for me beyond any sense of obligation and sensibility. I don't wish to turn a good natured gesture into something vicious, but I refuse to let guilt and stupidity get in the way of our friendship.

It's common knowledge that the times I don't pick up the check is when: an adult pays (at least 30 years old,) a guy pays (only if the guy is older than me,) relatives/family pay (since this is what they do,) or there are special circumstances (b-days...etc....) If I borrow money, it's 100% that I'll pay you back. Otherwise, we go 'dutch' or we take turns picking up the check. *sigh* I don't want to go into when I should pay...'cause it's pointless to go any further. I just don't want to deal with this issue every time we eat. Damn...it's always about the food.... ^^;

My unexpected Qns vacation ended today when I hopped on the train back to my side of the world. We played pool last night (until 2am ^^;) which was fun. But the Empire pool hall induced headaches due to the ppl smoking (against the rules >.<) and the tilting room. @.@ It was okay. The smoke wasn't as bad as the other pool halls I wander into. ^^;

Hello Kitty plush!

Jenn-chan gave me Hello kitty plush that was huge. The head was anyway. ^-^ Adorable. The head is even bigger than my Eeyore plush pillow...whose head is suppose to be the pillow. Hee, hee...reminds me of a chinese rhyme about big heads.... ^.^ Domo, Jen-Jen!

After founding out my mother (wonderful as she may be) woke up my host this morning, I calmly deleted all of my friend's numbers (amity and co.) from my mother's cell. I don't care if she calls my church friends. *shrugs* I don't want a repeat of this morning. Gomen, P-chan....

Simpson's Hit and Run

Yeah, it was another gaming night. This time we played the 'Hit and Run' game which demonstrated me lacking in my sense of direction. (Doesn't this sound familiar?!? >.<) After getting pissed at myself over the failed missions, I decided to hand over the controls to Alby and use the computer. Yup, I'm still at Alby's. I'm going to head home soon...I hope. ^^; At least I won a couple thousand game coins and bought the outfits and cars that were needed.

At the office! I remember someone saying "Oh, I'm not going to the office today." Not me! >.<; Aiya...I'm so boggled down at work at it's ridiculous. And it's not something I can push back: divorce and timed appts. for PA. I even had a client yelling at me. I almost blew up. Literally. Mark it down: today is the day I almost shouted at a client. >.< Not good. I totally need a destresser. Hence, that is why I'm typing in my blog at 6pm when I should be finishing these logs. Heinous, totally insane. Okay, I'm moderately calm now. Time to finish this before I miss dinner at YPF.

The DVD of the L'Arc~en~Ciel concert took place in...OTAKON 2004!!! *screams* Where in the world was I? O.O It was totally awesome. I was practically jumping about while watching the entire concert. ^.^ In the middle of one of the songs, the lead singer stood behind one of the guitarist (the one I'm kinda crushing on ^^;) and groped him. I'm not kidding, I saw his hands go around him...and.... O.O lol...fanservice, gotta love it. Also, some funny moments included them throwing bananas to the audience as well as showering the audience with water from their water bottles as well as throwing the empty bottles into the audience. ^-^ I can totally hear, "I'm never eating this banana ever...." ^^;

Go, Jenn-chan, go!

Yay! Jenn-chan got a job!. That's totally great. We must celebrate with lots of food and maybe Jay Chou videos. ^-^

Anxiety

Work is totally stressing me out. P-chan talked about being like the squirrel in ice age.... Well, I can somewhat understand what she is talking about. Stress is something I can deal with on a regular basis...but since we're kinda short on staff, I'm kinda on edge. Oh well, this can only make me stronger right? >.<;

Japanime discussion and hotpot

Well, I got my new years hot pot. ^^; Yesterday, I had hotpot lunch with my god-sisters. The older one gave me one of the GW fanfictions I was looking for (not 'Duo's Braid'.) The younger sister gave me a DVD copy of L'Arc~en~Ciel's live concert with them performing FMA's 'Ready Steady Go'. *dances* After lunch, we went around looking for a DDR machine, but realized that there were none in the vicinity. <.<;

Hello Kitty mania!

Since there was no DDR, we browsed around many sanrio type stores and my younger god-sis bought two Hello Kitty thermoses for herself and a friend. (We're both totally into Hello Kitty. ^.^) I found a Hello Kitty metal chopstick and spoon set which was perfect for me, but the chopstiks were flat. ^^; Flat chopsticks are difficult to use...especially if I want to eat instant noodles.... If I don't find other utensils, I'll buy those. Its totally cute. ^.^

We also spent a long time at a chinese manga store (under HK super market.) I kept on taking notes since my father will be back from Asia at the end of this month. ^.^ Yay...more manga! (Yeah, I'm selfish like that.... ^^;)

I went home afterwards and stayed up half the night reading the fanfiction. It was too funny to put down. I'm going to reread it today. ^.^ (O-nee-chan said that once she finds 'Duo's Braid'-which should be in her room somewhere-she will send it to me. I hope she finds it soon.... ^.^)

Happy New Year!

No more yoga!

One of my church friends gave me a wooden mannequin for Christmas. Its part of a art set with pencils, sharpener and an eraser. The mannequin is really a ball jointed doll with posable limbs. Its suppose to help in drawing bodies in the right positions and stuff.... (That doesn't sound right...but oh well.... ^^;) My other church friends thought it'll be fun to pose the mannequin in weird poses. Nothing obscene of course, just positions that a normal human can never achieve. As I was trying to place the doll back into it's regular position, one of it's leg popped off. O.O Everyone went looking for the different parts and between me and one of the guys, we were able to put the leg back together (springs, wood and screws) and connect it to the doll. *whew* The screw is still kinda loose, so...no more yoga more the mannequin. ^.^

Last night....

I was with church friends. We didn't have hotpot (my mistake ^^;) but we did have dinner with lots of chocolate and snacks. ^.^ An interesting combo in desserts was strawberries, dipped in sour cream and brown sugar. Living up to my claim of "I eat anything" I tried it. It was pretty good. *grins* Anyway, we had some sharing time which I won't go into detail about...and we watched the balldrop on tv. All in all...a typical new year.

Post-present comments

I called my god-sisters today and we made arrangements for lunch monday. *dances* ^.^ O-nee-chan said that she will bring my GW fanfiction (that I requested) on monday...I hope.... *dances some more* ^^; I gave the older nee-chan a YYH doujinshi (YusukexKurama ^.^) and the younger nee-chan the FMA novel, "The Land of Sand." They loved their gifts, I'm so happy. I'm kinda disappointed in the other presents I gave this year. The one I gave Alby-kun was suppose to have a chess game and a puzzle game. (Thats the reason I bought it for him....) The game does have these mini games, but you need to be online to play them. Where the heck did it say that? *yells at x-box company* Stupid company...tricks the consumers with their tiny font.... XD I still have to give Pearly her holiday gift since she is allergic to the Missha merchandise. (I'm still working on it. ^^;)

eve...of a new year

My church crew seems to have arranged for hotpot and ball-drop-watching at someone's house. I guess I'm going to be spending tonight on the Island. ^^; P-chans is acclimated to stay at her grandmother's (lucky ^.^) and Pearly is working until late. I dunno about Jen-chan and Alby-kun since I haven't talked to them. But knowing them, they probably have 'dates.' ^__^ lol...I mean they are probably going out with their friends. Have fun, minna! ^.^ Since I'm going to be meeting my god-sisters on monday, I hope to see you guys too. Hee, hee...see you next year than! ^.^
