Horse breeds |
The Gelderlander |
The Gelderlander is a result of extensive crossbreeding between old local breeds, like the Friesian, and numerous imported breeds. Including the Thoroughbred, Hackney, Oldenburg, East Friesian and Anglo - Norman |
Originally, this horse was used in light agricultural work. More recently, the Gelderlander has been used for riding, and it can be a good jumper as well. |
The horse has a medium-sized neck and rather long back. The tail is set quite high. This breed has good shoulders, generous quarters and clean legs. The most common colors are chestnut and gray, with frequent white markings on the face and legs. It stands about 1.60 meters. |

The Arabian |
The Arabian horse originated in the desert lands of what is now Saudi Arabia. They were prized by the nomadic Bedouin tribes who bred and raised them. Because of the genetic purity and prepotency of the Arabian, it has been used for centuries to upgrade and refine many other breeds. |
Arabian horses stand at an average height of 1.50 meters. The hair coat is fine and silky, same as the mane and tail. They are compact-bodied with long, clean legs. This breed appears in the colors grey, chestnut, bay and roan and occasionally solid black. |
