Series 2 1.Denise can't keep the secret any longer, despite a pact not to tell. She announces that she's going to have a baby and the family celebrate in their own style! 2. Jim's mate Twiggy joins the family for sunday lunch, along with Nana. Jim pushes Barbara to the limit, as she undergoes the menapause. 3. They're removing Nana's cateract, so Nana's coming to stay. 4. Norma comes to stay following her eye operation. The tension between her and Jim is classic! 5. Denise councils Barbara. Jim makes her feel depressed, and she blames him for Anthony being a "lanky streak of piss" with no confidence. 6. Anthony turns 18, and the family are introduced to Emma - his vegetarian girlfriend. There's a marvelous moment with Joe - the next door neighbour. CHRISTMAS SPECIAL In the extra long Christmas special, the family sit around the telly. Jim moans "the one day we all sit and watch the telly, and they put a load of shite on". Denise has a new mobile, as she's expecting, and sure enough, by the end of the episode, her waters break in a moving scene in the bathroom. They go off to the hospital.... "Follow that star!" Series 2 -THE SCRIPTS- is out now (including the christmas episode). A video and DVD are now available, plus a box set with series 1, 2, and the christmas episode. An audio casette is also available. SERIES 3 1. Baby David is the new arrival to The Royle Family. Dave does all the hard work, as Denise continues to sit on her arse. The family watch Ready Steady Cook. "Ready, Steady Cook Off!" 2. It's saturday morning and Ant & Dec (not Trisha!) are on the telly. Jim snaps at Denise for not giving baby david enough time. Joe and Mary pop in, after Joe breaks two fingers grating cheese - "I think we'll stick to dairylee now barbara", says Mary, "It's a much Safer Cheese". 3.A truely classic episode see's Jim, Twiggy, and Dave stripping the walls of the Dining Room. There's no TV on, but the radio is...which gives a classic few minutes which see's them jigging around to Mambo No.5 4. Hurrah! Nana is round, but is in somber mood after the tragic death of her friend Elsie. Jim is far from sympathetic and gives one of his greatest outbursts yet! Cheryl looks truely excited at the prospect of chips. 5. Just when you're beginning to hate Denise for being such a lazy shite, she redeems herself by being so nice to Anthony. You'll have to pinch yourself at how nice the family are to our Lurkio this week....and just admire the look on Anthony's face! 6. It's the day of baby David Keanu Ronan's christening! Twiggy introduces his new girlfriend Michelle to the family ("you've got a nice bit of class there Twiggy" says Jim). Dave, sporting a goatie, tries to convince Denise that she IS a good mother, Norma tells of someone she knows who might be homosexual, ("Dale Winton can be a bit like that sometimes"), and there's a surprise announcement to end this stunning series! THE ROYLE FAMILY AT CHRISTMAS (2000) The family are in a cheery mood, as they prepare to welcome Emma's parents round. This proves very embaressing for the Royle's, as Norma takes a particular liking to Emma's mum, and Denise tries on her leather jacket. The Royle's also meet Twiggy's girlfriend Michelle, who is not so well acepted - especially when she mock's Cheryll's visit to the physcic in the precinct! |
