interviewing ralf little, star of bbc drama the royle family, i was curious to know if the rising star was any thing like "antony", the charecter that has won the hearts of many of the series fans- and it soon became ovious that the two charecters couldnt be more different!
better looking then his alter ego,and not a adidas tracky bottom in sight, ralf little is the flavour of the moment.
hailing from bury, lancashire, ralf enjoyed a private education at bolton school gaining inpressive a-level results in maths, chemistry and physics which won him a place in manchester medical school. but he turned town the chance to don a stephiscope in order to pursue his dream career as a actor.
ralf expalined- "i never really thought that one day i could be acting, and i always wanted to be a doctor. maybe i still can if the acting doesnt work out."

but thats doesnt seen to be a issue at the moment. with a forth series planned for the autumn and many more projects in the pipeline, you get the feeling that ralf is going to be very busy for a long while yet.

but does he see his career lying solely wth telivision?

" id love to be in the movies. i started writing my own film while i wasnt filming in the summer. there are so many parts i would love to have mine in films, like robert di niros charecter in taxi driver, or han solo. well, you wouldnt want to be luke skywalker would you? knowing that he did nothing after star wars, come on!"

as well as basking the phenomanal sucsess of the royle family, ralf also played a six year old child in the christmas show nativity!

the royle family already has a fistfull of comedy awards, and it went on to win best tv show at the nme awards in febuary beating off stiff compition from later with jools holland and ralf littles very favourite, the simpsons.

"its one of those shows that really make me laugh. one of my favourite comedion is ali g, but lots of things make me laugh.
poo is very funny i nany shape or form!"

ralf then falls about laughing ali g style, and imitating the 11 o clock show star with startling presicion.

while he enjoys the attention, he remains down to earth and relistic about his chosen career.
so how does ralf deal with his new found fame? "i enjoy it" he said simply. "i was amazed when people started to reconise me"

"i remember waiting for a train in the middle of no where. these two lads said to me "are you ralf little?", and i thought wow they reconise me! they could have just asked me if i was that guy out of the royle family,but they new my name! great!"
