The
Institute for Environment Monitoring Studies was
established on August 1st, 1999. the idea to
establish this institution was begun from a collective
worries and concerns on the speedy process towards
environment decay that is getting worse day by day.
To
go up from the similar perspective, then a 9-person
designer of the institution – hereafter called as
Founding Board – with several background and
profession; an academic, lawyer, and NGO activists who
focuses the attention and care on the problems of
environmental decay and its effect to human health,
woman and child in particular as the most fragile party
in every environmental damaged ever happened.
As
a non-profit institution, IEMS carries out a function
and purpose to strengthen local community position in
safeguarding and taking cares their environment and
creating a health environment for living.
