was an important figure in the Sasser family if only because she was the person who preserved the Henry Sasser Bible for many years before she died. She deserves some special recognition for this. In connection with this Bible, I first heard about her from my grandmother. In August 1959, my Aunt Lucy Taylor-Stanfield took me to visit her, in order to see the Henry Sasser Bible. At the time I visited her, Rhoda was retired from teaching high school in Lexington, and was then teaching part-time at the University of Kentucky. |
