Dan Cobb was shot by John Carter. The bullet entered Cobb's head above the left temple and he lived until about 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. According to the testimony introduced before the coroner's jury, Hamilton Humes, Hubert Quimbly, Dan Cobb and John Carter were shooting dice under the electric light at the junction of Brown Street and South Main Street, when a dispute arose over some money, which resulted in the killing. A knife, dice and 60 cents were found where the fight occured. Carter's examining trial is set for Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. |
