her father noticed, he shouted for her to come back. Without

into the path of an oncoming truck, and was killed. It is said
that her father always felt responsible for her death.

    Tad, in 1918
Tad was named Ulis after his half-uncle, Ulis Cobb,
    who died at the age of 2 (b: 1893, d: 1895).
His uncle Ulis is the son of Tad's grandfather,

Ambers Cobb and Ambers' 2nd wife, Mollie (Jarvis) Cobb.

    Per Tad's & Ione's daughter,

    Sandy (Abner) Cook,
    My father was Ulis Abner.
He always denied that Ambrose was his middle name,
it's not on any official document I've seen, but
Mom Abner said it was. He was always called Tad,
for tadpole, because Mom Abner couldn't keep him out of
the strip mine lakes. Sometimes people called him Ted.
He went into the service September 1941,
before the war, and was discharged with malaria,
    in April 1945.

Lugi's Pizza in Terre Haute, IN. The recipe for the
pizza was a well kept secret. The restaurants were way
before the days of Domino's and Pizza Hut. I worked
at Uncle Arnold's for 50-cents an hour during high
school. Aunt Boots and Aunt Ruth (as I called her),
also worked there. They were paid more!

    b: 24 Jan 1926
    d: 16 Jul 2000 Clinton, IN
    Leon &Beulah(Abner) Guinn

    Per Boot's niece,

    Sandy (Abner) Cook,
Boots' father, Robert "Boyd" Abner, called her "Beauty."
Boots' niece, Dodie, just two years older than Boots,
would say "Bootie". The name stuck.
As she grew older she became Boots. Aunt Boots and
Uncle Dude became my "parents" after my parents
divorced. I lived with their family all during my high
school years. When Uncle Dude died it was like losing
my father all over again. I love them very much.
